14775 Jeffrey RdThe best yogurt place! I love the variety of flavors and I'm so happy they've opened up a location in NorCal. Sometimes I don't always want to eat the original tart and this places has plenty of other choices. I especially like the taro. Good variety of toppings also. The wait is pretty long but it was totally worth it.
cheap and delicious. at least 7 flavors each day to choose from and at least 20 toppings both fresh and dry items. I love the mochi topping they have here! The line's ridiciously long sometimes, so try not to go during hot summer afternoons (beat the line by getting there around noon) and hot summer nights from 8-10 is packed. 10 til closing (midnight) is not as crowded =). Irvine has a 10pm cerfew so kids are usually at home around that time.
While fro-yo is not my ideal frozen treat, I have to say I was impressed by my last visit to Yogurtland.
Key Points -
1. Self serve - Get as much or as little as you want.
2. Great Flavors - I'm particularly fond of the blueberry tart, the cheesecake, and the cafe con leche. Yes you read right.... cafe con leche. This flavor is amazing.
3. Good selection of toppings - This one, that one, all of the above.
Negative Points -
1. They gotta do something about that line... I don't necessarily crave yogurt in the cold or at odd hours of the day. It's a dessert, so let it follow after normal meal times.
All in all, not a bad place to stop for something sweet and relatively healthy (?).

Oh geez, so here's my two cents... I'ma keep it short since there's 323 reviews before me. I don't think I'm gonna say anything original that's gonna enlighten anyone. But...
I love that it's self-serve. I love that they have different flavors and you can mix and match and yada yada yada... I got plain tart, green tea, and mango w/ toppings of granola, yogurt chips, blueberries, and mangoes.
The line IS outta control, though. Best to go with friends you can chat with in line or arm yourself with your iPhone/Crackberry to pass the time, if you don't have any (hee, hee).
Hmph, I don't know if I love it so much that I'd be willing to stand in line all the time for this. That's just madness, yo.

Oh dear Yogurtland, I'm hooked! I was recently in Irvine on vacation and a friend took me here. There was a line out the door at 10 PM! Our group didnt mind the wait at all because we were looking at people walking out with cups piled high with fresh fruits and cereal etc... I was amazed. We don't have anything remotely this cool in Austin. So finally we were up to the yogurt machines and I got a little of everything except the taro (Im so sad to say I developed an allergy and my friend said it was yummilicious). All the flavors were so creamy and the right amount of tangy and sweet. I wish there were one in Austin b/c im craving it so much.

I know people are going to Boo me, but I just don't see the appeal.
Okay I will say this place is on the cheaper side of yogurt. The flavor for me is lacking. They have a huge array of flavor choices and you can ask for sample cups at the counter. The first time I brought my sister she loved it, but now she is over it. I will also give them props for the amount of topping choices and syrups. I love any place that gives the option of condense milk! YUM YUM! ^_^
Maybe I like my yogurts simple. I like Pinkberry's original the best, but I hate the one down in Irvine Spectrum. BLECH! Normally I just like it plain with mochi so that they won't be fighting for my tastebud's attention =P
This place is normally super crowded depending on the day and time. Nowadays there isn't much wait. If you see there is no wait run in because it does have the tendency to get swamped really fast.
Yes they have opened a new location on Yale Loop by Zion, Kaleidoscope, and more. Although the one in Kaleidoscope seems to have bad reviews. I think the yogurt business is going to crash soon because it is expanded so fast. As for me, I think I am getting over it.
I like this place a lot. All the UCI students come here because it's located near the campus. I'm not a student of the campus but I like this yogurtland and I've tried another one in Fullerton near CSUF. This one is different in that it has a more modern decor and has a slightly different menu. There's still a lot of variety of self serve yogurt and toppings but you can also create your own pat bing soo which is Korean shaved ice. Plus they also serve Boba for all you boba fanatics out there.
This place is great and satisfies anybody's yogurt tooth :)
I love all the different flavors to choose from at Yogurtland! And I also love the 30 cents an ounce price tag. Not to mention, the DIY yogurt and toppings business model is so smart.
My favorite is the original tart. It is so so so tart it makes me smile and cringe all at the same time. I also love the NY cheesecake flavor, oreo and cream, plain vanilla, tart blueberry, and chocolate.
I love the HUGE choices in dry toppings, fruit toppings, etc.
The store is some times a bit messy because there are so so so many customers trekking in and out and in and out non-stop. I do encourage the store owner to keep the counter top area clean from "run-away toppings" (although cleaniness of the store has improved tremendously since a year ago.)

I love the concept of Yogurtland.
I love yogurt ever since i went to Taiko, wow the line was very long for Yogurtland and Taiko
So i decided to go and try it.
To my surprise, it was to my pleasure.
I love all the flavors, it's so cheap, 30cents an ounce and you can have as much toppings and flavors as you want.
My advice overall, just try it and there will probably be a Yogurtland near you.
if you like it, the write a review!
Yogurtland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
: )
I am not the biggest fan, it's actually my least favorite yogurt places. They do have a wide variety of fruity yogurts. And I must admit it's good, not the best but still good. But I get sick of fruity ones after awhile. My favorite is the plain tart, and their plain tart here is the worst I've tasted. It taste like slightly sour frozen milk. Disappointing.
The Yogurtland in Jeffery seems to be always always crowded. And I hate crowds. There a new one in Irvine Blvd. and Yale. Beat the crowds. At least if you're in the Irvine area.
The prices is one good thing Yogurtland has going for them. It's pretty cheap.

This new location is pretty good, since it's not as crowded. The one next to Taiko (Jeffrey and Walnut) is always WAY too crowded, with the line out the door.
The bad part? It's located in a plaza where they have lots of educational institutes for kids, such as a dance studio, art studio, kumon, etc..., so... it is filled with little kids that are extra extra noisy. The place has higher ceilings and it seems to echo a lot. The noise causes me to stress out and get a little overboard with my froyo. (faulty cause and effect?)
My favorites are Taro and Mango... not a big fan of all the tart flavors (a reason why I'm not a big fan of Pinkberry). I usually sprinkle a little bit of Fruity Pebbles for a bit of a crunch. I know, it sounds like a weird combo, but once you try it, you'll be a fan. =P
This location does NOT have green apple, which the Tustin location has. BOO! But Yogurtland is Yogurtland... I use my kids as an excuse to go there 2-3 times a week. :)

My fav place for fro yo.
Pro: They have the best tart flavors and fresh fruit. so many toppings to choose from!
con: long lines, dirty floors, and messes.
I basically get tons of fruit and mochi balls with yogurt almost as a side.
Yogurtland is open late, and they do not card me. Thus, my rating may be biased upward a little until June 22, 2010.
It's alright, the inside is kinda dirty sometimes and the yogurt itself is just ok, nothing too special. I go if I'm in the area sometimes, but not if it's out of my way.
Even vegans can't hate.
You pay by the ounce! Lovely. I load up a cup with fruit--heavy on the blue and blackberries--and throw some nuts on top. Tasty, vegan, good for you, and cheap! Woo!

oh wait, its Irvine, I get it. don't hate me if this review doesn't make sense but they have the best Fruity Pebbles in Central Orange County.

My second least favorite Yogurtland.
The interior is the dirtiest so far. Nothing in particular stands out here that puts it above the rest, so a soild 3 stars for you, Yogurtland Irvine.
Seriously, what is up with this yogurt craze? I do not want to pay $3.50 for eight spoonfuls of frozen yogurt.
This review is not an indictment of Yogurtland, but rather of the trend in general. Can we somehow reduce the number of sheep out there who just buy whatever is popular? There is no WAY that Irvine can support 4-5 different yogurt chains for very long. This overabundance will last only until some other processed sugary treat becomes cool.
Not as good as Pink Berry, but pretty close and great variety. The long lines are bleh and all the teenagers get a little annoying, but the yogurt is good.
I'm not a big yogurt person, but this place was okay. It's much better than the location in Fullerton, but their yogurt is..too milky? I don't know how to explain it. After I bought my yogurt, which barely had any toppings on it, it started melting after about 5 minutes. We were inside, too.
The variety of flavors is good, but I'd rather go to kiwiberri. Their yogurt tastes a bit more tart, and stays creamy and frozen for much longer. They also had better service.
Looking for something new to try ,I drop by Yogurtland yesterday & all i can say is it's Yummy with red bean toppings hmmmm & you get to mixed & match the topping & the Flavor of yogurt you want =) not the typical yogurt that im used to( Red Mango) but definitely As " AaaaNold" would Say "I'lllll Be Back!" =)

had to find out what the red mango hype was all about. better than those old Penguin's places thats for sure, but still didn't amaze me. Good yogurt nonetheless
I prefer the fullerton branch more, but I end up coming here a lot because I have some friends that go to uci. Just like every other Yogurtland out there they charge 30 cents an ounce and have a plentiful selection of toppings to put on your yogurt. Try to avoid coming here at night unless you don't mind that the line will being out the door and having to sit outside by the fountain.
P.S. Taro and Pistachio are the best!!!
This place has a wide selection of yogurt and toppings but I hate their long *** lines.. it's always out the door.. but I love their yogurt!!! Esp. the tartness of the yogurt which makes it special!
I came back to Yogurtland a few days ago and it was open, all technical issues had been resolved, and the fro yo was FABULOUS.
30 cents per ounce, WOW. I love everything about that. I got so much frozen yogurt and toppings and still only paid a little more than 3 bucks. I tried about 5 flavors before deciding to get tart yogurt and piled on the toppings. I got bananas, mangos, strawberries, blueberries, and carob chips! AND LOTS OF IT. At Pinkberry, it's 5 bucks for THREE toppings and they give you probably 4 pieces of each one. LAAAAAME.
OH! And they have pitchers of water for customers to enjoy with whole strawberries floating in them which makes the water taste soooo good.
I LOVE fro yo of all shapes, sizes, tastes, and prices, but Yogurtland is so far my favorite fro-yo place hands down. They have about 20 different flavors to choose from, and since it is self-serve you can try every single one if you like (MMMMM). I love that they have several "tart" flavors as well as plain tart. They also have a more diverse topping selection, with a mixture of really healthy fruit toppings like pomegranate seeds and dry toppings like granola, then some more indulgent items like cookie dough and brownie bites.
Forget Starbucks, Yogurtland is my new weekly (read: daily) indulgence.

I'm a fan of how great the place looks and the concept of self-serve frozen yogurt. It's between 3 to 4 stars for me. It's not the greatest fix for a place if you have to drive far if you live near campus though. It opens late night so that's a plus. Good place to hang out with friends. Variety of flavors and toppings, yogurt is kind of watery though. Lines vary, but there are times when the lines are out the door.
"The poor man's Pinkberry" is how my brother, recent UCI graduate, describes Yogurtland. I finally was able to make the trek to this Irvine staple and was shocked to see the line snaking through the shop and spilling onto the sidewalk. Surely it must be worth the wait...
When you get to the front, you grab a cup and then proceed to the wall of self-serve yogurt dispensers, each with a different flavor. As with any of these South Korea-inspired frozen yogurt shops, you gotta go with the tart (what I describe as Yakult-tasting) froyos. Then you move on to the toppings, which you also add yourself. The best part is the checkout, where you pay only 30 cents per ounce. A reasonable and usual amount of froyo and toppings will cost around $3. Compared to Pinkberry, that's a steal :)
So why the three stars from me? The taste of the Yogurtland froyo just isn't rich enough. It's almost like a mix between a Slurpee and true frozen yogurt. Pinkberry's stuff is just more tasty and smoother. Still, this joint isn't bad, and will get the dessert job done cheaply, albeit with a long wait.

This place is like a hybrid of Pinkberry and all those other yogurt shops that specialize in "creamy goodness" It has the non-dairy, light, clean taste of pinkberry, and all the different flavors (mango, peach, taro, etc. and their tart counterparts) that the other yogurt shops (too many to name) offer. But be warned, this stuff is like crack. Once you try it you will fiend it. Seriously.
Also, this place is a major hang out for teens and non-drinkers so expect to wait in line...moves fast though, so don't give up.
Frozen yogurt isn't the best I've tasted, but the location here is where I commute all the time. They have lots of toppings to choose from. The workers are really friendly. Yup, one even came over and started talking to me. She was cute as a button. The frozen yogurt gets sickening after a while to taste- I went on a tasting spree one time here. The cookies and cream is ok. The taro and the coconut here are really good. The tart flavors- plain and blueberry- are the best here. They have cheesecake and brownies (my favorites), LOTS of fruits, but unfortunately like YAC, no hot fudge gooey sundae topping to top it. darn. oh well, froyo joints aren't all perfect. But, overall, I really like this place a lot. smile*
Everything about Yogurtland is fun.
I went to yoga class and I needed to continue the "two-syllable words that start with 'yog' theme" ... so I had to have some frozen yogurt.
It's amazing how I've gone years without needing to eat frozen yogurt, now suddenly - cannot live without trying it.
I had Pinkberry last week and was underwhelmed as usual. Then I read all the yogurtland reviews here and just couldn't rest until I went and tried it.
As everyone has said, number of flavors, taste, toppings, serve-yourself experience, price - it beats Pinkberry hands down on all factors.
Now, I'm not the kind of person who can look at 10 machines with two flavors each and think "guess I'll have the plain". Nope. At Pinkberry, given their three exciting choices, I had Green Tea with mango and kiwi toppings. So in the interests of science, at Yogurtland I had Green Tea, and mango and kiwi toppings. It's just that I *also* had mango, taro, pistachio and plain tart yogurt and mochi and azuki bean toppings. In the same bowl.
And it all cost a little over $3.00 which is 2 dollars less than a small with two toppings at Pinkberry.
Flavor roundup:
Green tea - to me, too boring to try again. Green tea is always kind of a subtle flavor, not my favorite.
Mango - good but ordinary and when you add real mangos as a topping, the flavor pales
Taro - oh, the purple goodness; I love taro flavor. This had the sweet, slightly dusty taro flavor of a boba drink, and I love it. And so colorful.
Pistachio - possibly the perfect icecream flavor, and translates well to yogurt. Also kudos to the marketing genius who decided pistachio flavored things would be green. Pistachio is also sometimes sublte but this had a nice strong flavor that held up.
Plain tart - at first I thought this was just tart and boring until I had almost finished all the other sweet flavors and then the tart really started to shine as a great way to cleanse your palate and bring you down from the sweet flavor high. It's necessary.
Plan of attack: Next time I'm just having taro, pistachio and plain. Although tart strawberry sounded good too.
Toppings:
mochi balls - yum; I almost missed them because they look like mini marshmellows in the case, so check out the signage above - chewy, sweet and delicious
azuki beans - hey - you just put beans on your yogurt - now it's a protein-packed health food! I love sweet red beans. These were nice and firm and delicious
mango and kiwi - both a little under-ripe and tart, almost boring in the company they were in, but fine
Crowd: Summer, Thursday evening around 7 - only one or two people ahead of me in the line before I got to the temple of self-serve machines. Lots of people hanging around outside eating yogurt made it all seem fun and festive. I don't know if I'd wait half an hour and probably it's a lot worse on a weekend night. But I'm a grown-up - I'm allowed to go out during the week.
Parking: Always bad and this isn't making it any better. Just be patient. I actually grabbed a 20-minute-only spot and it was fine for picking up the yogurt, eating it and then heading out. Except I almost got side-tracked and decided to eat dinner there until I remembered about the car.
Other stuff in the area: This is one of the best shopping centers for food in Irvine and it's right across the street from another one. I love A&J, the taiwanese soup and noodle house. China Garden is popular, Taiko always has a line for sushi. What used to be where Yogurtland is now? I know it wasn't there last time I stopped in next door for a Hello Kitty -as-Daruma cell phone ornament....
Bottom line: I'm sorry Pinkberry, but it is all over between us. You can keep the CDs.

I LOVE YOGURTLAND!
This concept is by far the most impressive I've seen in a while!
Here's how it works: You grab a cup from the starting point at the entrance, walk around to various stations around the perimeter of the store with multiple selections of yogurt, hot/dry/cold toppings, fill your cup to your pleasure! Then you check out (the price of your dessert is calculated by weight). And the prices aren't that bad either! This place is always popping, even at 11PM at night! Mainly the crowd is the usual high-school kids, to the twenty-somethings, but Yogurtland should be experienced by all!
Yogurtland is to UCI as Diddy Reese is to UCLA. Love it.
In Irvine, it's really hard to find a business that's unique at all, but this is one of them. Maybe the only one . . .
Sure, they don't have REAL yogurt like the kind I love at Golden Spoon, but I love the self-service, the flavors and the MOCHI toppings. Can't find that at Golden Spoon. My fave is the purple taro yogurt with mucho mochi.

Yogurtland vs. Pinkberry: A Comparison by a Fro-yo Amateur
Ok, so like I said in my review of Pinkberry, I'm pretty new to the fro-yo scene. I keep telling myself that I'll go get fro-yo more often - I mean I do enjoy it a lot and it's definitely a healthier alternative to ice cream. But it's been months since I've written that review and I've not gone back to Pinkberry and I finally got around to checking out Yogurtland. Well, the anticipation has been building. Speaking with many a person about Yogurtland, I've heard mixed reviews. Some people prefer Pinkberry to Yogurtland or vice-versa. I felt it only fair to write my take on which fro-yo reigns supreme to me.
So what's my judgment? I like Yogurtland better and here is why.
1. More flavors to choose from. I am a firm believer that variety is the spice of life. I tried the Tart Strawberry and the Plain Tart. Both were good and tart. I also tried some of my friends Green Tea Tart, which was also tasty.
2. Price. Yogurtland is definitely cheaper than Pinkberry. Some might argue, "But Alex, you get better quality from Pinkberry." or "But the fro-yo at Yogurtland is more icy than Pinkberry." To that I respond that my palette is discerning enough to tell the difference at this point. I also can't fault a fro-yo for being icy. It is frozen after all. All I know is that it's better than Golden Spoon.
3. You get to build and personalize your own fro-yo. Me? I'll admit I'm a bit of a control freak. I like things the way I like them and what better way to build your perfect fro-yo than to do it yourself?
So today, I've made my judgment and all that waiting and getting other people's opinions about the two different fro-yo juggernauts has come to this: In my book, Yogurtland is the best out there. Well, at least for the time being. Who knows? Apparently there is a whole world of fro-yo that I'm still oblivious to, but until then, I'll be at Yogurtland.

Ummmm, I feel that there is no point in writing a review for Yogurtland hence I am the 282 person to review this place.. So, in short we came here yesterday. I was the Yogurtland virgin and was in awe of the incredibly long line for yogurt. It was like a science experiment. I mixed what I think is spelled Toro or turo some sort of root with the blueberry tart and plain tart with the green tea (amazing).. THEY GET 4 STARS FOR THE RED BEAN TOPPING (aka azuki). The mochi topping was amazing.. I dig this place.. Unfortunately for our two yogurts it was $14 and some change... I couldn't nor did I try to finish my yogurt. If you are a Yogurtland virgin I highly suggest coming to get loose your yogurt virginity and stuff. This place beats Pinkberry and Swirls... Just saying.

This is the first yogurt place I been to, and so far it's the best. I'm just really happy they're opening one in Vegas! =) It's healthier than ice-cream and they have a lot of flavors to choose from. I like their green tea and mango and all the toppings and fresh fruit you could top it with. Sometimes I forget that it's actually healthy! This is a self-serve establishment and they weigh your yogurt.

I'm no froyo snob but I do know that this place is CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP compared to other yogurt places. Only 30 cents an ounce! No wonder the place is PACKED...like a can of sardines. The flavors are creamier then what I'm used it but I like it better that way. Icy yogurt is just not appetizing. Many toppings to choose from - don't skip the mochi balls!!
This place is open late - perfect for the college gatherings, because where else is there to go in Irvine?
I just don't get it-------what in the world is so great about this place? I've tried ALL of the frozen yogurt places and this joint sells the iciest fro-yo of the bunch. I mean it's so cold, your taste buds freeze upon contact with the yogurt and you can't even taste what you're eating.
Yeah, yeah, so they have a bunch of different flavors but with the exception of the blueberry and the chocolate all of it sucks. Especially the cheesecake one with really doesn't any flavor when it comes down to it. And the toppings get another big "Blah" from me, the fruit especially. The strawberries are always sour and the mango is always hard and unripe. I had one piece of mango that practically cracked my tooth in half, it was as hard as a rock. And please spare me that their dry toppings are decent because dry toppings take absolutely no prep time. The workers are just literally pouring it out of a box.
I can only conclude that this place does well because it's the only dessert place in this particular plaza which does really well thanks to Taiko (another place that I am perplexed does so well) and A&J and the korean BBQ place.
Being not a fan of frozen yogurt, this was my 2nd time having it this style compared back to the early 90's where it was like ice cream. I've heard so much hype about this place when I moved down here, so I decided to check it out with a bunch of friends.
I got cookies n cream, Kahlua and vanilla with mochi balls. I have to say, it tasted pretty crappy. I didn't finish it and ended up tossing it, my friends and the rest of the world seems to think differently. I think this experience forever ruined my urge to try froyo in the future.
They charge by the ounce here so whatever floats your boat. As the weather has been getting warmer, the lines out the door seem to grow even longer. I still don't understand the hype of this place but oh well. The crowd ranges from teenage kids to families and one thing this place can improve on is more seats and tables. Other than that, maybe I'll give froyo another try in the near future at Pinkberry.
