They've gotten big, yes, but I think they have maintained their high level of service. YES, I get things waxed sometimes - - no, not there, but they DO go there for men, too.
Alex J is my girl. First, she's hot and next, she's damn good. I've only been to the LoDo location but they have one in the DTC and one in Boulder.

I have been seeing Jessie at Wax in the City for 3 years now and I will never let anybody else rip hairs out of my vagina.
The environment is comforting and welcoming. The ladies are nice (I have seen Cherri as well, I just have more in common with Jessie), the prices are super reasonable, and they have a no gratuity policy. Can you believe it? A place that pays their employees instead of relies on customers' tendencies to forget to tip?
I highly recommend this place. Please go there for all of your hair removal needs.

I am a giant baby when it comes to waxing. I try not to be, but with the first pull of wax from my brow my eyes well up with tears and I can't stop them from coming until about 5 minutes after the whole experience is done.
And forget tweezers. I think because of a traumatic childhood event involving a toothpick, the arch of my foot and a doctor with the biggest pair of tweezers I've ever seen I am extremely reluctant to let anyone come near me with tweezers in hand.
I'm sure you can imagine this makes me a waxing client that everyone is dying to have.
Since Wax in the City has received such awesome accolades I decided to give them a try. As I waited in the room they offered me a drink - water or miniature sodas in a can (8 ounces I believe). We all know I'm a sucker for minis so I was already feeling happier and less nervous.
Then Skye came out to take me to a back room. They have a ton of individual rooms here which is awesome. But, not as awesome as Skye. She couldn't stop me from crying, stupid tear ducts, but she did stop me from feeling any sort of pain that I've associated with wax and she gave me tissues to clean up my tears. Plus, she used the tweezers and I hardly felt a thing. As an added bonus she didn't even get upset when I jumped the first time I felt the tweezers on my brow.
I think the prices are really reasonable and tipping is already included which is awesome. I will definitely go back and visit Skye next month when it's time to wax again. You should check her out, too.

I went to Wax and the City for some post bar exam hair removal. I was dreading the appointment because I'd let most of myself go in the weeks leading up to the exam. I was pleasantly surprised by how painlessly they were able to whip me back into my usual smooth, hairless self. The only semi complaint I have is that I did get a lectured about coming in more often, but I attribute that to the amount of effort my technician had to put into me to solve my weeks of neglect. I would definitely recommend this place for your waxing needs.

I read about this place here about a month ago and had been considering waxing for a while. When I read the rave reviews, I decided I had to give it a try.
I took the full plunge for my very first waxing experience and got the Brazilian. I was pretty nervous because I didn't know what to expect on the pain scale and it was relatively painless and my cerologist, Kate, was awesome and really put me at ease. I almost forgot that she was waxing my lady parts.
Almost.
I went to the DTC location, which is about 5 minutes from work. Perfect for a lunch appointment. Plus it's close to a few eateries, so you can grab something on your way back to work.
I also liked the no tipping policy. It made me feel at ease that there was no pressure to figure out a tip. If had needed to tip though, Kate would have been given well over 20%
Book your appointments about 2 weeks in advance, because they are hard to get in to on short notice. I know I will be booking my next waxing appointment here for certain.

I used to love this place. Before they got all big and had two (or is it three now?) locations, it was by far the best place for ritual hair removal in the city.
Then they went to that online booking and I've had nothing but problems. I book for a day. I go in on that day. They don't have me down for an appointment (usually they dig me up on some random day three weeks away) and they're too busy to get me in.
When I'm on my way to the beach, finding my last-minute waxing appointment doesn't exist and I have to scramble for something else just plain sucks.
I've carried in my email confirmations of my appointments. I've faxed them to the salon. And several people I sent to them back in tha day tell me they've had the same problems. It seems they just don't care that the system doesn't work.
I gave them many chances -- way more than I would if they hadn't been so good for so long -- but I can't go through the frustration and inconvenience anymore.
I LOVE Wax in the City - were it not for the fact that my eyebrows are being ripped out, I'd fall asleep on the comfy massage table! The price is great, service top notch, location convenient for a lunch time trip....oh and the online appt maker service rocks. Cherri is the best.

before wax in the city got too big for its britches, this place used to be my go-to spot for hair removal. now, it's still pretty good but service has gone way down and getting an appointment is not as convenient as it used to be.
that said, jessie d. is my girl. always friendly and patient and always down to get every last hair. if she ever leaves the downtown location, i'm done with wax in the city.
Not only is the name catchy, but the service is awesome. I came in (by appointment only) for a brazilian wax. Lets just say those are not pleasant, but Courtney totally made me feel comfortable and did a great job. I will absolutely be back!! The place is trendy and the staff is super nice. Oh and one more great thing, the tip is already counted in for the service. So my brazilian was only $45!! HOW COOL!

I'm a snob when it comes to waxing. I admit it. I've never (OK, well maybe once prior to a hook-up-a-thon with a smokin' hottie) used a razor on my legs or well..other areas. I have been waxing since I was a teenager. I have tried so many places in so many cities. I'm a native Washingtonian (DC, Dahlings...) and regularly went up to New York for a Brazilian before they were even widely renowned (wait, except in Brazil). The point of this story is...these girls are better than the best in DC. Not only are they all fun, hip, talkative enough to set you at ease (always a plus when your legs are in the air), but they are thorough, professional, and pure excellence. There isn't a cerologist there that I can't recommend. Since I split my time currently between DC and Denver...I actually book my appointments here and make certain I fly back in time for regular maintenance. The Brazilians are always perfect, my legs are mirror smooth (so says my BF!), and my brows are perfectly arched. What's not to love?
And gentlemen of Denver...be not afraid! Almost every time I'm there I see proper-grooming -conscious men checking in.
Bottom line (well, you already know about the no-tipping!) is that this is the best waxing deal around.

Courtney is the best for a brazilian bikini wax. She is super fast and you don't feel uncomfortable at all. The price is great too (includes tip). Love this place!!!

Heard raving reviews of this place and they were all true. Quick, clean and fabulous service. Krista gave me a great brow job. She is a wonderful cerologist and I would definitely recommend her.

I'm new to the city and read YELP to narrow my search. I booked the services online. It was quick and easy. The customer service is great. Very punctual and Jessie was delightful. Love the fact that they don't promote tipping but I felt compelled to give one anyway because the experience was well worth it.
Oh how I love the ladies at Wax in the City. I have always adored the work they do here. Not only is the salon stylish and comfortable, but these women know their stuff. Seriously, every single cerologist I've had has kicked ass. Once, I had to get an emergency brazilian due to possible hooking up-ness and since Wax in the City is always two weeks booked, I went to Revive. Not only was the whole experience uncomfortable, painful AND more expensive, but lets just say the job wasn't quite completed to satisfaction. Since then, I don't care if I have to wait two weeks, I'm not going anywhere else. Oh, and the no tipping policy is great, but they do such a good job, you sort of wish you could show your appreciation. I think money would make them more comfortable then my verbal laudes....they can get excessive.
Also, I highly recommend Skye...she's a level one but seems like a level two.

I'll probably be the only guy to post about using their services, but why not.
I have been to this place to get my back done numerous times and they have always been great. Very professional and helpful for all your waxing needs.
They now have 3 salons (as of this post): Downtown, DTC and Boulder. The owners share their time amongst all 3 salons so if you need services from them, you could work it out.
The best thing about this place is that you could make appointments with whomever you want right on their web site. Pretty easy to do, once you create a log in.
And, despite how much you want to tip they won't allow it. They include it in the bill.

Wax in the City....I love this place. It is a girl's (or boy's) dream for personal hygiene. I can't remember how I came across it....Oh I remember-my old eyebrow gal moved. Anywhodles- They do EVERYTHING, but in a professional, clean, comfortable, and affordable setiing! And the name, how cute! They include tipping in their pricing and have a "level 1 and 2 " system that determines pricing. Level 1 are people that have worked there less than 2 years. Level 2 have seniority or have TONS of requests. Great system. I definitely recommend. But, boys cover your eyes....girls who are waxing virgins......the Brazilian hurt like a son of a biscuit. Who needs that? That should be illegal. I'm just sayin......

This place is wonderful! Great location, it has an all female staff and owners from what I understand. They make you feel as comfortable as possible and get the job done quickly! They don't even accept tips, but instead expect you to send referrals. Ladies (and guys!) get yourself in there to take care of business!
