The most disgusting sushi restaurant I have ever been. The sashimi was already cut and displayed at the sushi bar... nothing was fresh... the waiters were all korean pretending to be Japanese.

Disgraceful!~

this place is DISGUSTING!!!!!

Negative stars if I could this place need to go....away!

I loooove sushi and I have been to many sushi restaurants all through the LA area and this is the WORST I have ever been to!!!!

Their Dragon rool supposdly had cooked unagi on the top it tasted barely cooked and OLD not even slighty FRESH

I dont know if you guys know this but all their sashimi is pre-cut! Which makes it loose its flavor and freshness FAST! How hard is it to cut it as people order it!

The fish was so old I thought I was gonna get sick after! I went home and puked it up cause my stomach was feeling queezy!

I did the all-you can eat and I have never felt more jipped in my life!!! And I paid part of it with gift certificate I got! They also charged 3 dollars for hot tea, without even mentioning it would cost anything! Hot tea should be complimentary!

One other note is the chefs are Korean, and the greet you in Japanese do not be fooled they are NOT JAPANESE!!!! And do not know the first thing about sushi making!

If you want a decent sushi place in the area go to Shogun in La Verne.

Don't walk away from this place RUN!!!

Cute little restaurant...as you approach you think "Oh, a boat shaped sushi restaurant...how cuuuute". Looks all nautical and neat...and then you sit down to eat.

It goes down hill from there.

Sucks sucks sucks!

Really! Don't waste your money here. I strongly recommend dining at Fukuya Sushi for example in LaVerne instead. I was soooooo much happier there.

I went to this boat and all the sushi I had seemed to have been a day or two older than it should have been. Seemed like the lowest quality fish, and mediocre amounts of it. Just as pricey as most places too.

Always avoid the flashy "Eat here!!!!" type places I say. This only confirmed my belief.

Be wise, and AVOID.

went with my parents (college student w/o money) and had a fun time listening to the japanese-style Beatles tunes. smelled a little funny, a little pricey, but overall great ambience. will probably go back (real sushi's non-existent at the claremont colleges)

disclaimer: it was a slow night, we didn't drink, but it seems as if the place would be a great place for bar-sitting (beer&sushi hangout)

Great spot, take a few people, not for small groups: why you ask? If you havent finished all of your sushi that you ordered, they they dont bring out more until you do. So you can force feed yourself or the person you are with. If you have a few people with you and you, say hate the Philadelphia roll (I dont see why anybody would, unless your are a commie/pinko bastard), you can politely say: "this is the best thing I have ever tasted, here try three peices of it'. Problem solved, order the next round!
oh oh and its shaped like a BOAT!!!! Therefor the name SUSHI CRUISE. The door leading to the restrooms has portholes!!! Portholes People!!!! Peace

um, i don't know why people love this place.
no offense, but everyone knows if you see a sushi restaurant with NO Asians, it's not going to be that great....
nice servers but slow service.
the all you can eat is very limited and doesn't include many rolls on the menu.
the sushi is poorly cut.
rolls are poorly made.
this restaurant is not legit.
i wouldn't recommend it.

Let me start with -- excuse me if I'm being harsh.  And to qualify myself, I'm a Japanese Cuisines fanatic and spent a little over a month in Japan.  I'm Asian also... so I think I can tell what's Americanized food or not :-)

I honestly can't find anyway to give anything more than 2 stars.  I was thinking of 1-stars... but... I just haven't had rated anything 1-star yet in Yelp.  I don't wanna go that direction...

8 of us went there for dinner, because half of the group had lunch here before and had recommended greatly.  I think for the other half new comers (including myself), it's safe to say we were sorely disappointed.

To begin, I ordered 2 orders of gyoza & agedashi tofu to share.  The gyoza... completely over cooked/fried.  It's dry.  The agedashi tofu... is probably the WORST I've ever had.  I would even say it's a total rip-off.  I've never seen it made this way, and not too add the dry texture of the tofu... I thought I was eating Chinese tofu bean curd.  If you wiki for agedashi tofu, I can promise you the one they served in Sushi Cruise is no where remotely close to the one described in wiki's entry.

3 of us 1st-timers ordered the sashimi platter to start with, the other 5 each ordered the Americanized combo.  The -LOOK- is so-so for the sashimi, but the taste is... word can't describe how poor it was.  I'm quite sure it's MILES away from the word "fresh". I seriously wonder whether the whole platter was pre-cut and just come out from the fridge...

I've never ever before, while using my chopstick holding up a piece of salmon and it is so cold so frozen that it can stay horizontal.  The tuna and yellow tail were probably the leanest you can find in town.  There wasn't a single line of fat tissue on the meat.  I don't even have word to describe the albacore.  I'm a fairly easy going person, but this is probably the very rare occasion that I actually called the waiter over and complain, and show him how "nicely" the sashimi platter was... for $25.95, I honestly can't justify paying a penny more than $15 for the one we got.  I am 200% certain I can get better and fresher sashimi at Mitsuwa or Nijiya supermarket.  On my way to restroom I even checked through all there little fridge on the sushi bar (I think there were 5-6 of them), and I think all the Tuna and Yellow tail in there were, in my humble opinion, should not be served to anyone.

For the combo-orders, the chicken and steak teriyaki were pretty much like meat-jerky.  The California roll... yuck.  The spicy tuna was a little bit more tolerable.  Maybe cuz of the spicy won't let you taste anything that's not fresh.  I wonder if the rice were over-water-cooked, or it's from the previous night.

Since the sashimi went so poorly, I picked hot cooked sushi roll instead as a follow up: salmon skin, volcano and spider.  The spider is fair, at least it's hot so I know it's fresh.  Not too much batter for frying but lack flavor, so I probably will give it average score. The salmon skin... below fair.  Volcano roll... sorry ... their sauce is just too plain.  A lot of places they will put some masago on top of the house's special sauce after the volcano roll come out from the oven, and certainly that's not in consideration Sushi Cruise's chef mind.

I'm able to give this place 2-stars only cuz of the cooked roll.  They are eatable. Or else I would have go 1-star, or might even go below 1-star.  At the end of night, with tips we each paid around $22-25 out the door.

Maybe their lunch is better, or the all-you-can-eat is better (I can' justify $25 buffer dinner when there were so many exclusion).  For me, even if you will pay for my meal, I don't think I'll waste my tummy space and time to ever go back again... I would even say *[[avoid at all cost]]*.

Thankfully the day before I had a $26 dinner at Shabu Shabu House in Little Tokyo.  Or else I'll be totally screaming and crying foul for the $23 I spent for this meal, and be totally deprived of Japanese food for this weekend~

I've always been relatively unimpressed by the food at Sushi Cruise.
The people working there are great.  They are friendly, helpful, and attentive almost every time I go in.
The selection on the menu is just OK.  For non-sushi people like myself, I didn't really see much on the menu that appealed to me.  Then again, why am I going to a restaurant named "Sushi Cruise" when I don't like sushi...?
My friends all like this place and I think the sushi that I've tried there has been pretty good.  I give it 3 stars for quality of the food and selection of non-sushi items.
Overall, I would say this is an OK place to grab some sushi.

My fish was raw!!!  Yuck.  and my food was cold...  Wait, haha, never mind.

Anyway, my wife and I like to call ourselves sushi connoisseurs; well, maybe not, but we've been to every sushi bar within a 30 mile radius from Rancho Cucamonga.  We love sushi and we love to try out new places.  We know good sushi and mediocre sushi.  We know good service and bad service.

If you come here, you have to order all-you-can-eat.  Otherwise, there is no point since two rolls cost what you would you pay for the all-you-can-eat.  You select which rolls or sushi nigri you'd like from a list and the cooks will make the food for you (not a buffet style establishment).

We've been to most all you can eat sushi establishments in the area, including Fukuya, Sho, Osaka, Onami, Todai, etc, and Sushi Cruise will always have a place in our hearts.  The selection is great (especially non-sushi items such as stuffed tempura jalopenos,  shrimp shomai, and you gotta try the dynamite!!  It's the best we've had.  Their dynamite is, well, dy-no-mite!!    Don't pass up the baked mussels too.  Sushi selection?  Try the fried salmon roll - a salmon cut roll fried in tempura batter.  Definitely a specialty at this place.  Our favorite is the Alaskan Roll - salmon, tuna, and yellowtail..all in one roll!!

This is the place to go if you just want to relax and if you'd like the cooks to just pile the sushi on.  The cooks at other places like Osaka become upset if you order too much (and other places are slow!).  No such worries at Sushi Cruise.  A big criticism is that the rolls are not made well  here- ok, they're not, but as long as the sushi is delicious and fast, who cares!  Did I mention they're fast...the sushi keeps on coming.  Service is great.  The owner greets everyone.

Couple final tips: 99 cent sake bombs on Monday nights (get plastered on 5 bucks) and special order the Korean hot sauce (called Go-Chew-chang) - it's on their secret menu.  Good stuff and really good people.  Our highest recommendations.

Sushi Cruise is my favorite All-You-Can-Eat sushi restaurant. Its not the best sushi you could have, but when I want to eat a lot on $20 it hits the spot.
Unlike Todai of Onami, you put in your order to the chef and your items come out made only for you. You can not only order sushi, but items from the kitchen as well such as Mussels, Tempura and Dynomite.
They have a normal menu as well, but I suggest sticking with the all you can eat.
The Beef Teriyaki is not something you want to order, but the Sesame chicken is very good.

What a weird place! My sister and I pull up to a boat parked nowhere's near a body of water. She's raved about this place since she moved to CA for college a year ago. All you can eat sushi? Never thought it could be done. But the sushi here is tasty and the rolls are creative. Loved the Salmon Crunch roll. Service was quick and efficient.

Sushi Heaven!

While it isn't the best sushi I've ever had, they have an "all you can eat" that ranges from $20 for lunch to $25 for dinner.  The service is excellent, and they make everything as you order it.  Stay away from everything that has "pizza" in the name, and you'll leave very happy.  If you need a sushi fix, this is your place.  The restaurant itself is shaped like a boat, which is a source of constant amusement.  Go with a friend who looks like Leo DiCaprio, and get some Titanic-esque shots on the camera.  Mondays and Tuesdays they have $0.99 Sake Bombs.
