Came here for breakfast for a second time with my Hubby and we both couldn't stop raving about it all day. HUGE delicious breakfast with a classic twist. They've got Blueberry & Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Eggs Benedict, Waffles, Potatoes, Omelet's, Oatmeal, Granola and list goes on and on. Every item has a unique twist, like the Eggs Benedict are over waffles instead of English muffins. The Eggs Florentine are on top of two cornbread with an awesome cheese topping. Oh, there coffee is also terrific, they make there own blend and sell it. They also have a large selection of baked goods if you're a coffee and muffin type of person. The restaurant is also very small and intimate with outside seating. I can't wait to try the lunch & dinner menu.

Do you live in the immediate Arcadia/Sierra Madre/Monrovia area? Can you barely begin to swallow the thought of going to IHOP or Denny's for breakfast? Or, are you just too damn lazy to make your own morning meals? If you answered a resounding "YES" to all of the above, Peach Cafe might be your AM fix.

I've been here a small handful of times over the past few years whenever I hanker for a more "proper" breakfast. Peach Cafe definitely holds its own je ne sais quoi-- a lofty space with bright abstracts and an interesting centerpiece that resembles oversized Mardi Gras beads. The Blueberry Pancakes steal the show and I'm in love with their Belgium Waffles. Omelettes look kind of pitiful, all small on the white plate with no other embellishments. Personally, a floret of broccoli would've been a keen touch. Egg to plate ratio not even.

Lunches are average; the wraps, hinge on so-so levels.

Peach Cafe is now a local favorite, as I suspect it will remain. A safe place to saunter into-- nothing more, nothing less.

A friend of mine bought a house in E. Pasadena and I flew down to take her and her tribe out for a celebratory brunch.  I was pretty pressed for time and so I emailed the owner, Nita, to see if I could get a reservation.  I'm from San Francisco and had to catch a flight back in the afternoon.

Nita was wonderful.  She reserved a table for us (6) on a Sunday morning, inside just in case it was too warm to sit out. The staff is warm and gracious, sat us before everyone had arrived and in general treated us as if we were honored guests.

The food was outstanding.  Several in our party went for the sweets: amazing strawberry-topped pancakes, chocolate waffles, maple-bacon waffles.  The others enjoyed savories: eggs, meats, soup and cornbread.  Everyone was happy.

As we were paying the check, Nita came to our table and asked if we would like some iced teas in to-go cups for the road.  I can assure  you that my own mother is not that thoughtful! The combination of excellent food (I've not had a waffle that good in SF) and uncommon hospitality makes the Peach Cafe a real winner in my book.

The menu specifically states that they respect that everyone has different dietary needs and preferences and invites patrons to ask for any modifications and accomodations - the staff is happy to help.  So this is a great place to bring a party when some want the all out choco-waffle-maple-bacon feast and others only eat egg whites, no salt and soy milk.

One of the best mom n pop places to go for delicious home-cooked Bfast and Brunch!! The servers are veryyy friendly and accommodating and try their best to make sure you're satisfied! Food takes a while to be served but that's because their business is so good! I highly recommend their Eggs Florentine and their Lattes.  Also try their chocolate chip pancakes!

My friend who lives in Ontario, CA told me about this place and insisted on taking me there when I visited her earlier this week.  The place is VERY cute, and the server we had was cheery and talkative (we didn't mind!).  Come here with an appetite because the dishes are heaping with rich, yummy stuff.  I ordered the ham and cheese croissant sandwich with a side of onion rings. My friend ordered the tomato and cheese panini with seasoned fries.  We shared everything and still had to get a takeout box.  Onion rings were the best I've had in a long time - crispy, hot, and delectable when dipped in their ranch dressing.  Didn't have room for dessert, but the case was filled with tantalizing baked goods.  Also: Refreshing, tart lemonade, perfect on a scorching hot day.  Definitely recommend this place-- go if you have a chance!

The eggs benedict special was amazing. You just cant go wrong when there's bacon and maple syrup mixed into the waffle batter. Topped with ham and creamy hollandaise, I might as well have orgasmed in my mouth.

The service, however, made me want to jam a hockey stick into my eyeball. While waiting over 20 minutes on the hot sidewalk for a table, we were offered cold drinks so we wouldn't end up melting like a grilled cheese sandwich...but they never came.

Nothing is worse than a f*cking tease! A reason why I don't go to strip clubs - untouchable penises are worthless to whores like me.

The neighborhood place is a dying breed,  but that's what The Peach Cafe is.  A place where you see the same faces behind the counter as well as populating the tables.

The menu is such a manifestation of the owner's love of food - there's imagination at work, there's passion and love in every special - it just feels like you're a part of something when you sit down.

The passion iced tea is a favorite, but the coffee is rich and lovely.

The pace is slow and welcomed, the food has depth and it just feels like a local hang out in all the best possible ways.

I AM UTTERLY SPEECHLESS.  Peach Cafe has the MOST AWESOME blueberry pancakes I've EVER tasted!

I got a 1/2 order 'cause I usually can't finish a full order of pancakes.  But today, I ate the whole thing.  Two medium-sized pancakes prepared with fresh blueberries embedded within the pancake and dusted with powdered sugar and topped with fresh sliced strawberries.  Absolutely the most perfect pancakes I've ever had in any dining establishment.

Peach Cafe's pancakes were surprisingly light.  I was so amazed by how they were prepared that I asked to see the owner, who happened to be there.  Besides paying her hefty compliments for my wonderful pancakes, I asked her what made these pancakes different.  She said they make them completely from scratch, which is why they are not heavy.  I later learned that most breakfast places use pre-made pancake mix to prepare their pancakes and waffles, which contain heavy ingredients.  Ahhh...I see the light!

Peach Cafe is now #1 on my breakfast spot list.  Besides breakfast all day, they also serve lunch and have an espresso bar and bakery.  This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship...

This place has me so torn I need to bullet point my review:

Enjoyable:
-I love the waffles made with Bacon in the batter.
-I have also enjoyed their pancakes.
-Their coffee is really, really good.
-The restaurant has great ambiance, both outside and inside.
-People say it's pricey, but I'm willing to pay these prices for good food (but the place has to have good service too, and they don't).

Not Enjoyable:
-Having to sit and wait with empty coffee, water, and tea cups every time I'm there.
-Having to ask for warm syrup or butter numerous times every time I'm there.
-Having on more than one occaision have my waiter forget me altogether and just sit there while other tables get their food, eat, and pay.
-Sitting with dirty plates and empty cups for upwards of half an hour one time - asking for the bill three times before I finally just went inside and paid.  (Really, I thought about walking away, but I just couldn't do it.  Darn ethics and morales!)

It's mostly good food and I want to go back, but the place is understaffed and understaffed with not so good servers anyway.    So.....if I hear that the wait staff turns over and the owners puts more staff on the floor and I think there's a chance I can go and enjoy a relaxing meal that is in service to me, the customer, I will be back!

I love the Peach Cafe. I gone here with my mom and mother in law a few times. It's a very quaint place, the service is always attentive and the staff friendly. The prices may be more then you'd pay at ihop but the food is truely exceptional. Try the eggs benedict!!

My only complaint is the weird hours they are open, I never know if they are open until I drive by.

One of my favorite breakfast spots (and they serve it all day) - Peach Cafe serves casual cafe fare with a twist, such as juicy blueberry pancakes with a hint of orange, croissant french toasts, HBAB sandwich (ham, brie, apple butter) and vegetable quesadilla made with tomato tortilla.

The portions is very generous, which is kind of a pity because I never have room to try the delicious-looking desserts on the pastry case.

Great for picky eaters too, since there are a lot of build-your-own options and you can pick the sides (the sweet potatoes and onion rings being my fave.)

Good coffee too!

I've been here several times now, usually to meet with co-workers or other related biz.  I've never been real excited about pancakes, but I had on very good authority that thee best BlueBerry Pancakes EVER resided at Peach Cafe.  That was the first thing I tried and, I have to say, nothing else on the menu has compared to those cakes since.  Don't get me wrong, I haven't had anything "bad"...just "decent" as far as the breakfast menu goes.  I would recommend sticking to the pancakes or lunch sammies.  There are some yummy options to be had for lunch.  You can bring your canine pals here and the staff will have a fresh bowl of water on hand. Friendly owner also...she's come out to say hello about 90% of the times I've gone.

Since it's the 4th of July weekend, I figured that the drive to Monrovia would be less painful to see if all the rave was true about Peach Cafe. It's true, Peach Cafe's blueberry pancakes are f'ing good. They're so fluffy! I didn't bother putting syrup on my pancakes. The Croissant French toast was pretty good. Oh and I love the cheese sauce with Peach Cafe's benedict! I was disappointed with the Open-Face HBAB as I was expecting the brie to be spread evenly on the ham instead of clumps here and there...they should also put apple slice with the sandwich. Their Bourbon sweet potatoes were interesting...(I'm not a sweet potatoes fan, but my man liked it). As you can see..I went crazy and tried to order everything...

My man wished their coffee was as good as their food. I'm not a coffee expert, so I was content with my drink.

Service - 5 star -no complaint at all, but then again, it wasn't packed.

Got a call from Joan on saturday.

Joan: wanna go for breakfast?
me: (thinking - "I only have $18 to my name - probably not")
Joan: It's a place I heard about on Yelp! and it's in Monrovia
me: Oh - it's a Yelp! Field Trip... I'm in!

It's that easy for me to part with my money... sigh...

I hadn't done any research on it - I was just along for the ride.  Joan on the other hand, had a list of things she wanted to try - and called them all out...

Problem for me: Everything she wanted to try had some form of dairy in it. The non-dairy things didn't sound all that great... so I sucked it up and ordered the Peach Cafe Benedict with the Holandaise on the side. It comes on a waffle with bacon & syrup in the batter...

meh.  It was alright. I'm sure the sauce would have made it better...

I did sample a little of everything... those blueberry pancakes were really good and i almost couldn't stop eating the one i was sampling.  The french toast was good but WAY too sweet.  And that Sweet Potato puree was also WAY too sweet.

Decor was cute
Service was great
Food... is it any wonder why we're all getting so fat with all this sugar and butter and cream and... ugh.

I'm glad I went - but I wouldn't make this a destination if Monrovia isn't your 'hood... The place was good - but not stellar... I'd take this over any chain restaurant any time though.

I'm not sure why everyone says the menu is over-priced. I really don't get it ! The food is fresh, cooked on the spot and the coffee is absolutely amazing. They spent 6 months mixing their own blend before the store opened and it really has paid off.

My boyfriend & I came here for breakfast and we were excited to find this artsy fartsy little place with eclectic pieces of art hung and strung around the restaurant. The front patio is lined with potted bougainvillea which adds lots of color and flavor to the place.

Speaking of flavor, the food here is great. It menu carries more Georgian/ South Carolina flavors - rich and simple, which is probably why some people aren't finding the complex fancy breakfast foods here. It's just good food, overall.

Oh and I second Joie P's recommendation of Bourbon sweet potatoes. A must have!

ok i didn't have the blueberry pancakes that everyone is flipping out about but i did eat here and i was mostly unimpressed.

soggy, sloppy scalloped potatoes that tasted like a mountain of nutmeg had been piled onto them but.. somehow.. salt was completely forgotten. we asked for salt and pepper and we were handed tiny, stupid shakers that hardly omitted any salt onto my bland potatoes.

i had the 'french special' which is a ham and cheese omelet on a croissant. it was good but it wasn't amaaazing or anything. just ham and eggs and cheese.. on an ok croissant.

one person with me had the monte cristo.. which was on a croissant. it was good but it wasn't really a monte cristo. she also made the mistake of ordering the slopped.. i mean scalloped.. potatoes.

other person eating with us had a the hickory bacon waffle. while it was a good waffle the presence of bacon was mostly unnoticeable. he ordered something else unmemorable which was accompanied by the sweet potato mash.. just ok.. not great. and corn bread which is more like a weird spongecake than cornbread. maybe they are adding a lot of eggs to it? i am not sure. it wasn't BAD. it was edible but def sweet and more like cake in flavor and texture.

my latte gave me a stomach ache. i am a seasoned coffee drinker. either my request for soy milk went unnoticed or something else was wrong. i'm not sure. either way. thanks for the stomach ache!

Do it!  This place is great.  It gets pretty busy on the weekends but the wait is worth it.  The menu hasn't change and it is a little pricey (about $10 for breakfast plate) but the quality is high.  They have La Brea bread for their toast options and their fruit cups are super fresh....always good.  When I feel like being lazy and not making brunch, I come here.  Their desserts are very unique (Boston Cream Pie, Lemon Bars, Red Velvet, etc.) and look yummy but I never have room.  Monrovia needed a "better" breakfast place and this does the trick!

I've only been able to come here once, but I loved it. The place is really cute, and the people there are very friendly. Parking is convenient, as we just parked on the street across from the cafe.

My friends took me there for lunch, and I got the Turkey Sausage Panini with fries. YUM! It was quite a difficult decision to make, however, because EVERYTHING sounded so good! I really must go back there sometime~ Wanna come with? :D

weird place.  there is no air-conditioning so they have overhead fans blowing directly on you while you eat.  i felt bad for our server, or at least one of the 3 or 4 that showed up at our table during the meal, because her face was really red and sweaty looking.  not exactly appetizing.

anyway i had the half-order bacon waffle and a ham and cheese omelette with sweet potatoes and cornbread.  nothing was special.

service was strange at best.  i did snag a couple of chocolate chip cookies to go with the check.  decent.  all around i probably wouldn't drive 15 miles on a scorching hot day to the Peach Cafe again.

If it's possible to give zero star, I would have.

My husband and I came here for breakfast on New Year's Eve (12/31/07) based on the good reviews from other yelpers.  We had horrible service.  It took our waitress 1/2 hour to bring us water.  When our breakfast came, it was okay -- not that great.  It was also very expensive.  We do not recommend this place!  Go somewhere else for your breakfast.

They serve breakfast all day!
Got one of their signature specials, a waffle eggs benedict, sounded kind of strange but it was really good.  About $11.  Their house waffle, made with good sized pieces of bacon in it--what's not to love, plus the waffle itself was light and moist inside, dry and crisp outside; ham, the poached eggs, topped with a cheese sauce instead of hollandaise.  Surprisingly very good.  Also tasted their cornbread, some of the best cornbread I've had, light and moist, yes moist cornbread.  Also tried the potatoes that came with the skillet egg dish, the potato was kind of raw, yuck.  We couldn't resist their lemon cake: cream cheese frosting and decorated on the outside with paper thin slices of lemon.  The cake was moist, the tang of the cream cheese paired so well with the lemon.
Was also looking at all the other dishes going to other tables, and everything looked so good.
The proprietress is one of those overly friendly, a little bit too loud, everybody-likes-me-so-I-can-intrude-on-your-meal types; kind of annoying.

The Peach Cafe is a charming place in Old Town Monrovia.  I think I've become sort of a regular there because the staff is starting to recognize me.  It is one of my go to breakfast/brunch places.  I do think it's a bit pricey but you do get better quality.  They have some great things on their menu.  For breakfast, my hands down favorite is the blueberry pancakes.  The salads I've had have been tasty and the fontina cheese and tomato panini is delicious.  Side wise, I recommend the onion rings and the cornbread.  Their specials are definately worth trying out too (especially the chili!).  The only day they're open later is Friday.  That's the only time they serve dinner.  Things I would not recommend are the tuna melt and their yogurt and granola. Just about everything else on the menu is great though.  It can get kinda hectic on the weekend (I think they could use a hostess).  The staff is friendly though and the owner is especially warm.  I do thoroughly enjoy this place though and encourage others to check it out.

Another note: They have great desserts if you have room!  Their vanilla ice cream is homemade so get something a la mode!

The artsy atmosphere of this little cafe is worth a look, but the food is fairly uninspired and greatly overpriced. They have passably decent bacon and palatable coffee, but I can make those at home. The service here can be properly labeled as horrendous, and pretty much killed the experience for me. If I'm going to overpay for a relatively characterless meal at your establishment, at least try to take care of me a little bit while I'm at it. I'm not necessarily vowing never to return, but I certainly won't be hustling right back to Peach Cafe any time soon.

This restaurant was a little too "quaint" for me but the food was worth the sad attempt at being artsy.
The coffee came first and although it was one of those wide mouthed mugs thicker than a slice of bread the amount of mocha you get in it was weak.
The Monte Cristo
Croissant French Toast
Hickory Maple Waffle
and finally the best fucking thing on their menu....
three words people
BOURBON SWEET POTATOES!!!
I could actually get away with just a coffee and the sweet potatoes.
Careful on weekends...it gets crowded.

I don't know why everyone here says this place is 'over-priced!' I don't mind paying reasonable $$ for GREAT food. I've visited the Peach Cafe 3 times now and have always gotten their maple belgian waffles, which I must say are addictive. It's a cozy cafe with great BREAKFAST, desserts and latte! It's in a quaint little old town, great to walk around after your meal.

Try the red velvet cake too!  The peach cafe is my peach pit! :)

$12 for a salad? The owners must be high!! Not only are the prices ridicuous, but the wait is so long for food. You'll need to take a two hour lunch break... ok maybe I'm exaggerating on the wait, but it does take a while.

The only reason I give this two stars is:

- Walking distance to the office
- They occassionally will sell Red Velvet Cakes (my ultimus primus)

How do you like 'em peaches?

Maybe it's because locally owned small cafe-restaurants are so rare in LA nowadays, but I love it here. Truly a local hangout with decent caffeine fixes from the espresso bar and dishes. It's not cheap in price, but for the ambiance it's worth it to try at least once.

I've wanted to try this place out for some time...I heard it's a bit pricey, but worth it. Old Town Monrovia has been slowly getting a lot more cute, little places to shop and dine in the past couple of years and I thought this one was worth the visit.

So I took the special someone here since he's a breakfast kind of guy. It's nice because he was able to hold my hand and help preventing me from spending all my savings on yarn I would never use at Unraveled, the yarn store next door, and we go into the very adorably decorated Peach Cafe.

It's an intimate space where they utilize every square inch of the place (READ: Very high potential for being sardine packed during a peak time). We got there with some spaces open, and was sweetly attended to to get our orders down. Their menu offers a generous selection of breakfast dishes and lunch sandwiches and the like, all of which can be ordered at any time. They also have beer and wine as well, which is a surprising thing to a cafe menu.

What I was told was right: the food is a bit pricey, particularly for what you get. Mind you, the food is not bad and is actually decent, but for the price they charge, it could be better. I had the fitness wrap which consisted of egg whites with spinach and mushrooms in a tomato tortilla. It was prepared like an egg white omelette surrounding the spinach and mushroom. I have to say, I missed the yolk flavor (but it wouldn't be "fitness," would it...), and the reason I got the dish was because I'm a sucker for the spinach/mushroom combo. They were surprisingly generous with the mushrooms, which made me happy, but even more surprising was there wasn't as much spinach as I had expected. Across the table the breakfast wrap with bacon was ordered, and that looked good. And tasted good.

I'm pretty disappointed to give this place three stars,  but I must. Why? First, the fork I was served wasn't clean, and the table was a little sticky to the touch. Next was the fact that the service after getting our food did not exist. at. all. There were a few people working that day, and it wasn't super busy at the time, but they always seemed like they were in a hurry to get somewhere else and it was almost impossible to get their attention...we weren't in a corner, but it never seemed they even looked in our general direction, and this was just for a coffee refill (which was decent).

What took the cake was that we were waiting for a good 20 minutes until we figured out how to pay for the bloody check. See, they place one of those number tents on your table after you order. It's confusing, because we first thought we take this number to the cashier and pay, but we did see some people at other tables get their check and leave way faster than we did and they arrived after us. Having this both our first visit here, we didn't know what to do. It wasn't until some new patrons came to sit two tables from us and cleared it themselves as it wasn't cleared for a few minutes (there seems to be a lack of bus people in the place), so when our waiter came to clear the dishes from the table next to us, we asked for our check and he seemed kinda aggravated when he asked us to take our number to the cashier.

Now I understand when you're busy it's tough to help everybody, but it seemed that everyone around us was helped except us. I'm not one of those people that like our servers coming around every three minutes to see how things are, but I do like them to help us when help is needed. And it just wasn't there.

I will give this place the benefit of the doubt and assume this is some of the inconsistent service Rob J. was talking about. I will definitely want to try going here again, as their sandwiches look very tasty...but it won't be one of the first places I'd want to go back to when in Old Town Monrovia.

Slightly overpriced?  Ummmm try F-in expensive.  Ordered the Peach Omelet with a Latte for breakfast this morning.  Total $17.83.  Ridiculous, right?  I have no one to blame but myself.  I was being super lazy.  I should have moved to Jake's as recommended by the GF but I had flip flops on and the rain was pouring.  Weak sauce!!!

Peach Cafe wasn't all that bad. The restaurant had a good feel.  Very cozy and the service was welcoming.  The redhead lady that greeted me was uber nice.  Nice decor and the patio area is a great option when it's too crowded inside.  Seems as if a lot of the locals come here.  I noticed most of the staff familiar with the patrons.

Seriously the food was alright.  Nothing significant and eye poppin'.  Omelet a 3. Latte was also a 3.  I love anything cornbread so let's just leave it at that.  Service was OK.  It was just expensive as hell.  Lesson learned.

nice little splurge every now and then.  you can't beat the freshness of the food and the flavored (but not sweetened ) ice tea is great!

yah the food is more pricey than mcdonald's...but come one people!  healthy eating costs money!  a big wrap plus a salad for about $10 is worth every penny if it keeps me from heading to in n out or taco bell for lunch!

i just happen to work walking distance from this place...so i definitely walk there for a nice change from work every now and then.

This is one of those places that has something for everyone... Such a casual atmosphere, it is only open for Breakfast and Lunch but always seems crowded. The food is great (personally I love the hot turkey sandwich with Onion Rings YUM!), but the service is inconsistent.  Sometimes very quick, other times, a wait.  There is a wonderful patio out front, perfect to read the paper and sip a cup of your favorite warm beverage.  All in all, a good neighborhood addition!

This is one of my favorite local places. The food is good, several steps above diner food. They blend their own coffee which has a rich flavor. If you are a dog lover, you can bring your pooch and sit on the patio. They'll even bring out a water bowl.

The ambience and staff wonderful.  Food a bit too pricey.  I always like what they have, but the other day, I had Hazelnut crepes and the ricotta cheese was blah.  It tasted like mush and I had to take the ricotta cheese out.  But for the most part great.  Love Nita, the owner.  Very personable and wants everyone to be happy.

This place is a local treasure. It's small, but attractive and kept well.

Prices are, on the whole, a little higher than what you can get elsewhere, but you get what you pay for - the food is unique, filling, and delicious. On a recent visit, I had the strangely named Open-face HBAB sandwich, with a mind-blowingly good country ham topped with brie cheese and apple butter.

The staff, particularly the owner, is attentive and warm.

Breakfast or lunch, it's hard to go wrong here. Well, there is one downside: it does get crowded.
