I like this place a lot.  They have Japanese style shaved ice and it was yummy and reminded me of being a kid! The syrup was a little thicker (sweeter) than I would have liked but still thumbs up...
They have a cute patio area where you can sit and chat.

Cool Place.  Parking is a little small but both times I've been I found parking.

The place is small and cozy and I can see it getting full, but both times I was there we found a seat.

Both times I got the M+H special.  Im not a huge condensed milk fan, and they don't put a lot on it, but just enough to give it good taste.  The shaved ice/fruit/yogurt combo is great.  I love all the toppings and the flavor.

The yogurt seems a tad tart, but still very good.  I'm gonna have to try the yogurt by itself....but I probably won't since the shaved ice part is so good.

The first time I ordered a large, but by mistake they gave me regular...so they made me another regular.  How cool is that.  The employees and owner are very nice.

Getting bored of the fro-yo places...go try this version.

Still a solid four stars. Since my inital review, I've gone back another 2-3 times and I still love it.

I did try one of the M+H Shaved Ice Specials. Shaved ice is... shaved ice. But what was cool about this special was the dollop (what a funny word) of  fro-yo within the shaved ice. The ice was strawberry flavored, which I didn't care for, but it was topped with strawberries, kiwi and mochi, which totally made up for the strawberry syrup.

The baked goods were all right as well. I asked the counter if they made the muffins and other stuff on site, but they "cater" those in from a local bakery. So not too bad, I totally appreciated the honesty.

I read a lot of reviews about how the prices are too high for ice and syrup or for frozen yogurt, but I think everyone forgets about a lot of things that go into those prices.

Milk + Honey has to pay rent, their employees and pay for everything else that goes into having a business. You aren't paying just for the ice and syrup but you are also paying the employees to serve you and for the ambiance of milk + honey.

There are so many reviews about how great the place looks and how relaxing it is, but who is going to make your drinks? Who cleans those tables outside, makes sure the windows are crystal clear, that the floor is swept, the trash is taken out. All of those tables, plants, the water fountain outside, that all costs money. They can't charge you exactly what the frozen yogurt costs because then they wouldn't be able to have people serve you or have employees. They have to make a profit in order to keep the place going. I think that is what a lot of people forget.

You pay for the ambiance, for the service and for the experience so don't take that all for granted.

Dope spot for dessert and place to chill.  Nice change of pace from the korean fro-yo craze.  Didn't have a clue what to order so the girl working the counter suggested the green tea shaved ice with mangos.  Not bad!  Place has a little outdoor patio where people chill, read, or work.  A litle pricey for shaved ice but so is oc rent so I guess it's all good...

5 Stars for the M+H special, cleanliness, relaxing decor and outdoor seating.

When I think of shaved ice, I think snow cones. Here, the special adds a dollop of the best textured frozen yogurt, bananas, kiwi, strawberries, and.. red beans? Its surprisingly fantastic!

Does this place get busy? 2-4pm on this Tuesday was a good time for easy parking and friendly service.

What's with the lesbians? (the Subaru diesel kind)

I.  Uh, I dunno.  Knitting outside of a coffee shop with what I can only describe as classic Orange County yuppie hippie trust fund kids vibe...please do not make me gouge my eyes out before I get to my car.  Please, I need to drive a big rig tomorrow during rush hour and I don't want there to be any accidents.

The tea was a tad disappointing.  You sweetened it for me, you're sweet.

I really wanna give this place three stars, but I'm a bit harsh, so for dealing with me.  4 stars.

Mmm!  I'm in love with their shaved ice, which is a tad expensive; but, that's okay because it helps me curb my addiction.  Milk + Honey incorporates milk into the shaved ice which gives it a lovely texture not found in plain ol' shaved ice.  It is almost Class 302-ish.  They really pile on the fruit into the already filled cup, so plus brownie points there.  Additional toppings lead to incremental savings, but I got to thinking about getting additional topping and wondering if that would result in you getting less of the first topping because of space issues.

Their seasonal yogurt is interesting and I must say that the texture in on par with Pinkberry.

There's not much seating here but it seems like a serene place to study or catch up on some reading.

M+H's ambiance was depressing today!  (or is looking/acting depressed what hipsters do?)  I have no clue, as I'm just not cool enough to see the light on this place.

I had to almost mow down some hipsters in the parking lot just to try M+H again.  This place is crawling all over with those guys and their fancy cars.  Hoping to get a different glimpse of this place, I dropped in to try the $4.35 "Orange Creamsicle" shake, but sadly, that glimpse was super depressing and they still retain their 2-star review.  Good thing was, without the use of smoke grenades or woodland camouflage, I managed to slip in and out without being seen by my "old friend," the owner at OVC.  Now that would've been a disaster! (hehehe)

I had just left work and was in a good mood upon entering those doors.  But then, it was like walking into a "dead zone"...is it just me, or did the Seattle grunge scene attitude just resurface over on the M+H patio, and M+H in general?  I never knew hipsters could look so unhappy eating froyo.  All I saw was this group of emaciated looking guys and sullen looking student-types carefully spooning that stuff in their mouths looking like it was just the end of the world or something.  And then those emaciated guys sped off in their white BMW.  And no extra points for the hipster girl who made my drink.  Who knew such a beautiful girl could look so sad?!  I dunno, maybe she was tired...but still!  It's froyo for God's sake!

Ingeniously put by a friend, it was like "knife to the wrist or something"

I liked the $4.35 orange creamsicle shake better than the M+H special.  But all this involved was OJ, ice, and vanilla powder.  Something like this shouldn't cost more than $2.25, end of story.

So after 2 trips to M+H, I'm now out $10.10 (or about the price of 2 combo meals at In N Out.  Or about half my electricity bill for the month).

I don't really have anything to add to my previous review except I wanted to mention that this place has great customer service.

I ordered our usual, a large M+H special. When it arrives, we thought it was smaller than usual, but then we figured that it's ice so maybe it condensed/squashed/melted down. We continued eating and didn't think anything of it. When we were almost done, our cashier came out with a second one.

Cashier: "Sorry. We didn't notice you ordered a Large and we gave you a regular. Here's a second one. We're really sorry about the mix-up."

I thought this was awesome. I'm inclined to believe that if this happened elsewhere, they would've just ignored it since we didn't even notice and we didn't say anything.

Just in case you were wondering, the second one was a full-size with all the trimmings. They didn't short us on the second regular-sized serving.

Before today, I felt like I was the only person in the OC who hasn't experienced the joys of m+h.  Well, today I joined a cadre of rabbel rousers (aka the out of town sister and brother in law) to indulge in life's fancies, and I must confess m+h is awesome.

Truth be told, I was a bit skeptical from many of the disappointing reviews stating "nothing new", "too sweet", and "an overload"....  My rebuttal to these heaven haters is what u smokin?  Not only did I devour a large m+h special the size of my FACE... I was ready to get another.  The special was a new-to-my-palate overload of sweet ice goodness.

If I were to order an ice cream sandwich at Didi-Reese I should hope to expect rich creamy crunchy sweetness.  Same goes with a cheesecake at the Factory.  That being said, if someone said "hey there laddie!" here is a bowl filled with froyo, strawberry shaved ice, kiwis, bananas, strawberries, mochi, red-bean, and condensed milk one should anticipate sweetness to encapsulate the tongue.  If not... you are in id-gee-it!

Lots of parking, nice patio to sit and enjoy, prices are consistent with the competition, and they serve good tea as well.  What's not to like...?

Alas!  I finally came here.  Prior to dinner at Mesa, my partner in crime and I decided to kill sometime so we decided to come here.

Tucked in the corner of the Camp (next to Outer Limits) sits a Milk + Honey.  The thought of shaved ice enticed me in getting a large (which was huge) to share.  I got the strawberry shaved ice with bananas as a topping.  They also put condensed milk on it.

My first bite gave a little sugar rush to my head but knowing me, I can always use the extra sugar haha.  They put the perfect amount of condensed milk so that you can taste both the bananas and the strawberry syrup.

Beware though, if you're a messy eater like I am, be sure to have napkins around cuz it will leave a mess... on you and the table.

So hipster jokes aside (hello, this is @ The Lab / Camp compound, pretty much hipster central no matter how you try and go about it), this place is great in many aspects. The owner is super nice and always willing to let you sample their various offerings and give suggestions on their teas. Ultimately I think anyone should be able to find at least one or two tea combinations that will satisfy them. And if you're in the "i need everything to be fructosed out" category, well then this place might be a bit too mature in terms of tastes here. Can't really comment on the coffee here as I've never had it but I'm sure it can satisfy as well.

The frozen yogurt is definitely quality, with just the right amount of tang to keep you wanting to grab just another spoonful. The M+H Special is great and certainly generously sized. They actually do have a small for all the people that love to complain about portion size (people apparently are too scared to ask the simple question "hey do you guys have anything smaller?") and I generally go with that. Parfait is good too, mmmm granola.
Seeing how the fall season is starting to kick in, I do hope to be able to sample some of the hot teas sometime soon.

Major kudos to both the minimal interior decor and the most comfortably small outdoor patio setup ever.

My picks? Iced shaken pomegranate with the herbal tea infusion for a hint of fruity sweetness, or the iced shaken aloe with the fresh greens green tea infusion for a quiet sweetness that's barely there but feels just right.

Sorry yelpers, I'm gonna have to disagree with ya'll on this place.  The first time I came I was bordering btw 3 and 4 but thought I'd give it a 4 anyway for creativity.  The 2nd time around, it was a solid 3 for sure.

The yogurt itself is very light and fluffy with a great consistency, but it's honestly nothing I can't get elsewhere.    The M+H special is waay too sweet, overloaded with stuff, and Mochilato just does it better.  It's also not worth the price for the portion.  Have you seen how much Mochilato gives you?  The ice and yogurt melts too fast together, resulting in a very sloppy and unsatisfying treat.  I was spending all my time trying to finish the thing as fast as possible.

I tried their Green Tea special too, which is Green Tea shaved ice with their special honey sauce, red bean, strawberries, and mochi - but they FORGOT the red bean and it's not worth the price because there's not even any yogurt in this one!

I don't think this place lives up to its hype - it's pretty good quality but for what you pay to get it, I just don't think it's worth it.  Unfortunately, I would never go out of my way to come here... it missed the mark for me.

so after all the rave and being on the top yelp list, i just have to come here. i figured it would be a perfect topper to cleanse the palate after dinner at anjin. we decided to try the m+h special sans red beans. it consists of plain or peach yogurt at the bottom topped with shaved ice with strawberries, bananas, kiwi slices, mochi and of course, milk and honey. trust me, a regular size is enough to share! chose the peach yogurt since it has more flavor than the plain one. at first, we were not sure how all this mixed together would taste like but it actually blended really well.. it was still light and just enough sweetness to the tastebuds! very good choice for a hot day or night...

Nice and clean and froyo isn't too bad either.  I especially like the fresh fruit toppings.  We had the two items on the photos that were on front of the registers (frozen yogurt with fruit toppings and shaved ice with red beans, mochi and fruits).  There were too many options and I just asked for what looked good to me on the photos.  I liked the shaved ice  - cold and sweet.  The frozen yogurt was little tart which is plus for me and I really liked the fresh fruit topping.

Cheers,

After randomly stubbling upon the review for this place, I finally went to try it.  Me & my friend got a regular sized m+h special: some plain tart frozen yogurt topped with strawberry shaved ice, kiwis, bananas, strawberries, mochi and red bean.  I was a little unsure about whether I wanted the red beans mixed with the fruit combo, but all of the ingredients mixed surprisingly well together.

The atmosphere is really chill.  They have indoor and outdoor seating, and even though it's a pretty small place, it has a pretty relaxed feeling.  I came on a Saturday in the early evening, and there was parking and seats.

Even though it was my first time here, I'm already planning another trip back!  Yogurt + shaved ice... YUM!

Love this place! Milk + Honey is awesome, the tea is extraordinary! The place is so cute and very sanitary. And everyone who works there is so hot! I go there everyday with my laptop and just chat and do my tea refills all day.
I especially love how the whole experience is very intimate. It does not feel corporate at all and that makes my whole experience there seem very comfy.
If you didn't like something there, be daring and try something else! There are so many choices and they are all delicious! Tea, Coffee, Dessert!
You can't be a snob about that kind of combination.

I wish that I could give this place 3.5 stars-better than average but not worthy of "great" (sorry Yelpers). One of my gf's and I stopped by after a nice lunch at the Gypsy Den.

- Loved the modern interior meets rustic outdoor ambiance.
- Thought that the large sliding door to the outside was clever
- The menu artwork reminded me of Starbucks (sorry, when you are in Marketing, you notice these things)

I ordered a parfait which had fro yo, fruit (strawberries and blueberries) and granola. I wish I had told them to hold the blueberries, since they aren't my fav. fruit :oP The fro yo was comparable to pinkberry- creamy, enough tart and not icy.

My gf got some sort of coffee to wake her up after the food coma and she seemed to like it.

I wouldn't mind going again for a better assessment :oD

Let me first off say that I'm no fro yo fan .... I came because after a nice lunch with my favorite nephew and the rest of the family, I always wanted to try this place to see if they could convert me.

So what did I order at Milk + Honey .... well I had the M+H special of course since I didn't really know what to get, regular size for $5.75, not sure if this is how much fro yo and shaved ice costs but it's OK ... I didn't pay.

First of all, too, too sweet.  They really do put M+H and to top it off some strawberry sauce to make it even sweeter.  I had them mix the original tart and the passion fruit fro yo .... put it this way, by the time I was almost done with it, I ended up just drinking it.

It's just OK .... check it out, it's at a nice spot .... the nephew liked it!

Came here after dinner for something sweet, and was pleased by the results.  My latte was blended with peanut butter and topped with Reese's pieces.  Uber thick and creamy, I was a little too indulgent in ordering the larger size, but fortunately I wasn't paying.

He (on the other hand) took one bite of his "chocolate chip" cookie and was ready to swear them off forever.  The dainty tag proclaiming they were vegan was unseen, and he ended up self-serving himself a carob chip snackie --- much to his dismay.  The plain fro-yo with choc chips wasn't a hit with him either.  I blame it on the cookie.

The adjacent patio was soothing with a fountain, ample seating, and lush greenery.  Music volume was on the high end, but we could still chilax and finish dessert.

Could not help but notice their savory selection.  Pasta side salads, healthy sammies, and a pricey deconstructed tuna salad spread I'm ready to spend $7.95 on (pathetic, yes).  Next time.

When Hipsters, Scenesters, Costa Mesa, and Fro-Yo/Cafe come together this concoction makes way for Milk + Honey. By non-traditional standards unlike most fro-yo places owned by Asian establishments, this one has hip written all over it. On the right side of the shop, within The Camp also home to 118 Degrees and Mesa Bar respectively), this place was a must see for me as a Yelper and food goer.

I was hungry and bored one day back in Garden Grove, to make the trek south on the 405 to stop by here with assistance of my roommate Tim. As I look through the menu I ordered the following:

-1 order of a Regular Plain Tart Flavored Yogurt (with topping included: Mochi Bits, Bananas, and Captain Crunch)
-1 order of a small pasta salad bowl (consists of : pasta, parmasan cheese, tomatoes, salt, pepper, and pesto)

The salad bowl was small....a bit pricey. Its just like any other Pesto bowl I've tried for the ages. The Fro-yo on the other hand was smooth, and the toppings are fresh reminiscent of Pinkberry quality Fro-Yo and Yogurtland's variety of topping offerings. My biggest mistake was probably not ordering their signature (Milk + Honey ) combo, which I'll save for a later visit in the future.

The total of everything came to $9.00 total with tax. The sad part that I had to mention was the lack of attention of my order, which took more than 20 minutes, to notice they had not served met let alone provide me the food I paid for. They apologize and brought it outside to their stone garden patio. With vintage rusted chairs and a stone fountain...it created the image of architecture that I'm familiar with in Berkeley at a metal shop.

I'll come back again to try the Milk + Honey combo to give my conclusive rating but just make sure to remember my order next time and I'll give the full five accordingly.

I'm not too much for frozen yogurt but came here anyways. I just wanted something to drink so I browsed the menu a little bit. I didn't want something too sweet which I was eyeing the Thai blended tea. So what caught my eye was the green tea latte cooler. I figured, that sounded good over ice. When I heard the blender, I knew it was a blended drink. It's a small place but it looks really nice. I think the drinks were expensive but I'm guessing they aren't known for their drinks, it's all about the frozen yogurt. Perhaps I may try something else if I end up here again. The girls were nice here where they brought me my drink and asked if we had any questions while looking at the menu.

When I imagine shaved ice, I picture the old fashioned paper cones with a round scoop of ice colored in unnatural shades. You know what I'm talking about. I have never had this 'style' of shaved ice before, but of course, I'm a sucker for all those places "Hot on Yelp!". And so my sister and I stopped by after a long hot day of shopping.

We ordered a regular sized M+H special, without red beans (I can't do it) to share. From the reviews and the price, I was expecting something larger. But oh well. We paid for it and took it outside to the lovely seating area. You almost forget that there is a Chevron next door. Ha.

Upon first bite, we each looked at each other and said it tasted like cake batter. I think that must have been the milk and honey mixture that was drizzled on top. It was good, but not spectacular. The fruit was fresh and the yogurt (we stuck with the plain, but the seasonal flavor was pineapple tart, fyi) was creamy and really delicious. But the strawberry shaved ice was almost sickly sweet and melted in minutes, turning the whole thing into something that reminded us of melted strawberry ice cream.

I would go back for the frozen yogurt and I do want to try the teas. I just think what we had was a little overpriced, and even the prepared salads and sandwiches were way pricey. I'm not paying 7 bucks for a salad that has been sitting in a case for who knows how long.

Maybe I need more shaved ice experience before I can appreciate the M+H special!

Considering that very often, I don't read the reviews of the actual establishment before I go to it, I was lucky that I brought two of my girlfriends out here tonight. I hadn't realized it was inside The Camp, home of the vegan, vegetarians, and active citizens of Costa Mesa. So, when D pointed out that it was here, I was like "aw, crap, I'm on the left lane".

All is well.

I parked close-by in front of Outer Limits (wanted to say hi to you Gregg, but it looked like you were either out or busy inside a room). Anyhow, we walked in and I was just astounded by the interior. I wanted to strip naked, grab some stones and make them hot, and make them jump up and down on me. (Sorry, my left shoulder has been feeling tweaked lately.) But it wasn't that type of place for it; it was more of a ... cozy kind of environment.

My other girlfriend, J, had never had shaved ice in her life, so the girl working the counter gave her a sample of green tea. So delicious! D ordered a red velvet "cupcake" and an iced green tea. I say "cupcake" loosely and in quotes because it was more of a chunk of cake, baked in a round 2 1/2" mold, and cylinder-like in shape than your typical cupcake. Speaking of, from what D said, it sounds like they used cream cheese frosting. Ugh.

Did you know that the red velvet originally came with an icing made of flour than cream cheese? I don't know where the cream cheese frosting originated from, but to have it with red velvet is just... it's too much flavor. Once you try an icing with the red velvet, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Back to the review--

I deigned to have the mango shaved ice with toppings of mango and mochi. I wanted something light and the M+H special seemed like it would have been too much for me. J got the green tea shaved ice with toppings of cereal bits and she liked it.

Overall, I would like to come back here and try some more things on the menu. Coming out to this area is a treat for me though, as J, D, and I usually go next door to the Lab to Urban Outfitters and to sit and talk in front of the waterfall.

YES!  I've experienced nirvana in the form of fro-yo from Milk + Honey.

A small swirl of plain tart and seasonal passion fruit, topped with chopped strawberries; it's creamy, tart, with just the right amount of sweetness...surely this creation was made with love.

I must come back to try their other treats.  Lucky for me I work down the street.

Alas, we have come to the tart frogurt craze.  It seems it all started with Pinkberry.  I remember when the frozen yogurt--which I like to call frogurt!--market was dominated by Golden Spoon.  But Golden Spoon's concoctions never seemed like frogurt, just more like lowfat soft serve.  Now we have the frogurt that tastes like actually yogurt (even if you're not sure that it's real).  I've been to Pinkberry (not good), Yogurtland (pretty good), and few more forgettable rip-offs.  Milk + Honey is another place that I really can't call a rip-off and not so forgettable.  Nonetheless, it's not all that spectacular.

Milk + Honey is located at the indie, hipster mall called The Camp.  Be glad to see no direct rip-offs of the Pinkberry interior design.  No color plastic chairs, no fancy lights, and no stupid things on sale on the shelves.  I would say the interior is more organic, especially its small patio/garden.  A unique touch, the patio is like somebody's backyard--fountains and a vine-covered overhang.

Not necessarily a total frogurt place, Milk + Honey is also a cafe, complete with coffee, tea, and Starbuck-like pastries and sandwiches.  You can order your standard yogurt with toppings or look at the special menu for different concoctions.  Flavors of yogurt include tart, some berry flavors, and a seasonal flavor--this time was pineapple.   I ordered the frozen yogurt parfait, which had the seasonal and tart flavors, fruit, and granola, all layered.  I liked the thick, smooth consistency of the yogurt.  The fruit was fresh juicy blueberries and strawberries.  The granola is plain, sweet, and simple.

The regular size I ordered was more than I could eat and that was one thing I liked about Yogurtland--self serving.  So while the experience was a lot more unique than any other frogurt place, it wasn't spectacular.  I would probably visit again if I can another craving for frogurt and didn't want to drive far.

Sorry folks!  I know that most of you are fans of this place but I gotta say that this has been one of yelp's disappointments to us.  We went out of our way to come here and were all excited to try it.  We've all had shaved ice before and fro'yo' from many different places but this is the first time I've seen a place combine the two.

Everything looked good; pictures and the actual stuff while they were making it but after the first bite, we all ended up with a displeased look.  Three of us tried the M + H Special at $5.95 each and the other two just ordered plain tart fro' yo. Us 3 should've just done the same because the stuff we ordered wasn't good.  It was way toooo sweeeeet!

Went here with Mariel C. after seeing all the good reviews. The staff def. made a great first impression. Of course we had no idea what to get (being M+H virgins and all) so we ended up ordering shaved ice with 2 toppings because we couldn't find the Milk + Honey special on the menu. While waiting for our food, we realized that the M+H special was located on the chalk board next to the menu! We asked the lady behind the counter if it was too late to change our order & she was totally understanding. No attitude, no eye rolling, and no annoyed smirks just a simple "yeah, no problem." She didn't even bother charging us the difference!

I loved the M+H special. That was my first time having shaved ice & fro-yo in the same cup. The red beans were an interesting choice, but it really enhanced the flavor of the whole thing! I know it sounds weird, but don't knock it until you try it =)

The patio seating outside is very zen. It would be a great place to sit & read a book or catch up with a friend. They did a great job with the decoration that you almost (I say ALMOST) don't notice the Chevron sign peeking over the brick wall. haha.

I've often joked with the wifey about what I'd name my froyo shop if I ever had the misfortune of opening one. Right now my number one choice is: Arnold's Haus of Froyo (of course I'd throw an umlaut into the mix, but I don't know how to type one in). Honorable mentions go to the following suggestions:
-Froyoberritopialand
-Who Wants Froyo?
-Squirts
-Frogurtopolis
-Way Better Than Golden Spoon
-Yo-Yo-Yo! It's Fro!
-The Derek Zoolander Center for People Who Think Froyo Tastes Good and Wanna Learn to Taste Other Good Stuff Too.

However, if I ever desired to open up an amazing one-stop shop for sweet and tasty goodness... Well, it's too late because Milk + Honey has already beaten me to the punch. Although this isn't the first store of its kind, Milk + Honey, in my opinion, knows exactly what it is and keeps things simple. Other similar stores are too busy trying to please everyone and accommodate everyone's tastes in general. To me, Milk + Honey stays focused and serves fewer items at a higher quality.

Their froyo, for example, is limited to two flavors (plain tart and a varying seasonal flavor). The plain froyo is smooth, creamy, and has a nice tartness to it. For a newcomer in the froyo game, Milk + Honey already has a good understanding of what's good and what's not. I don't think you'll find obnoxiously strong flavors here. The toppings offered aren't as varied as those of other shops but, from what they have, they're pretty good. I was happy with my plain tart froyo and strawberries. I was actually surprised by the regular sized serving (which is more like a medium to large size elsewhere). In terms of non-self-serve froyo joints, this is a pretty good value.

The Milk + Honey Special (shaved ice with all the fixin's) was pretty tasty as well. I sampled the wife's order and thought it was pretty good. I loved that they used ice that is shaved and not crushed. It makes a big difference. Although her order mistakenly came with froyo in the middle (she'd requested ice cream instead), the tartness of the froyo balanced out the sweetness of the other ingredients. Looks like they know what they're doing, huh?

Milk + Honey's décor is tastefully and simply done. I really enjoyed the natural tones used and the serenity conveyed by the Asian themes. To me, it was really relaxing and made my experience that much more enjoyable.

I had no problems with the service and had a chance to speak with the owner (very nice and receptive to comments and questions). I hope that things don't change much here because I can easily see myself stopping by any time I'm in the area. Milk + Honey's current top spot on the 'Hot on Yelp' list is well deserved so pop in when you can. I think you'll enjoy it.

I really anticipated loving this place because I love shaved ice, frozen yogurt and red velvet cupcakes.  I came here last night and met up with my sister and her kids.  The store is REALLY cute and I found a nice quiet place to sit and read while I waited for my sister who was across the street eating at El Pollo Loco.

We ordered a large green tea deluxe shaved ice and a red velvet cupcake.  The cupcake was good, but the taste wasn't as rich as (and I hate to do this comparison because it almost seems unfair) Sprinkles.  The frosting was VERY cream cheesy but the cake was just ok.  My sister and her kids really liked the shaved ice (came with kiwi, mochi, pineapple, coconut shavings and red beans) but I like the more intense shaved ice tastes (bring on the Fruity Pebbles cereal, boba, and condensed milk!)

Overall, it was a very refreshing experience (ambience & taste) but maybe there was too much hype about the place that by the time I got there, "refreshing" wasn't amazing enough.

I had to try the special here after reading all the glowing posts.  Yes the regular size is huge and is a feast for the eyes, as well as the mouth!
Now that I tried it, I need to stay away for my own good!

Hi, I'm Nina,  and I am a Milk + Honey-aholic.

(insert chorus of "Hi Ninas" here)

It all started innocently enough.  A new tea shop opened and I went to check it out.  Ordered a pomegranate shaken tea at the counter and noticed there was a cute patio, so I sat down to do some work.

I remember my first sip like it was yesterday -- that wave of tea goodness hit me and I thought, "Wow, this tea is... realllly good."

The next day I drive to work and think, "I have time to hit the tea shop before I go to the office," and started thinking about the moment it would hit my system.

This has gone on for weeks.  Before work, on a break, on weekends, before dinner, sometimes twice, or dare I say it, three times a day.

Like any addict, my habit gets in the way of my life -- I convince myself that Milk + Honey is on the way to everywhere I'm going.  And like any addict, my habit hurts those around me -- I find myself bullying friends into "stopping by really quick" just so I can get my fix.

I don't know what Jee is putting in that shaken pomegranate tea, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's derived from crack, since I've become an absolute Milk + Honey fiend for the past few months.

P.S. Try the curry chicken croissant sandwich for a quick lunch!
