Don't get me wrong, I love the stadium, it's just the new commercialism that takes over that bugs me, and the decibel level of it, and the flashing lights, and screen images everywhere!
But the stadium gets 5 stars for the 5 minutes of every 3 hour game where it's chill, no onslaught of ads, images and noise and nice baseball atmosphere w/ Nancy B. plucking away on the organ keys.
Additionally, I love the design of Dodger Stadium, the funky colored yellow and orange seats, the jagged pavillion roof and the hilly surroundings. But, I'm just kinda partial to retro parks in the city that admire the downtown skyline.

and ridin with the big boys in the $200 box!!!!
this has to be the second best time I have ever had at a baseball game. EVER!!!! (first is the bleacher seats at Yankee Stadium--you haven't lived if you never got the chance)
Well, if your gonna go to the Dodger game, you might as well sit in the bad ass seats. And if your going to sit in the bad ass seats you might as well like the Dodgers. If you like the Dodgers it might as well be because Donnie Baseball and Mr. Torre are on your side and in your eye line (seriously I'm on the field!) And then if you have all of that going for you, plus front row parking, plus your in the middle of a streak against Philly--then you might as well join the circus that is MANNY RAMIREZ!!! and let me tell you, the man puts on one hell of a show--I haven't seen this much L.A. fan community since the O.J. trial!
You know you people in L.A. are pretty awesome fans when you want to be (read: when we are winning) and I enjoy a good bunch of laughs in line waiting for my dodger dog instead of the next fist fight.
But really, all of this would not nearly be as much fun had I not had my little dancing ass blown up on the jumbo tron during the 6th followed by a foul ball to my friend Ethan struck by Mr. Loney! Thank you L.A. for one hell of a night and one hell of a season.

Hopefully I'll get some more awesome seating free tickets from work.

Last night I sat in the AYCE section for $25. Well worth it. If you have the ability to get a seat in this section do it. I didn't pig out like most people would think. The best part of the AYCE is that it includes water.......this is a must when you are preparing your body for a night of drunkenness and karaoke.
Think about it. If you sit in the left field pavilion, you will pay $13. For just $12 more (find that ticket special!), you can get all of the peanuts, water, hot dogs, etc, that you can eat.
No brainer!

A modern classic. Bleacher seats with tin roofs that make you feel like your at the municipal stadium. If you think about it, the only teams on the west coast that matter are the Giants and the Dodgers. No offense to A's or Angels fans. But when two New York rival empires relocate to San Francisco and Los Angeles exactly 50 years ago. Now there's two teams who don't want to be outdone by the other. Rivalries. Sometimes they're odd. But thats what makes it fun.
My LA friends tell me Dodger fans are all 'cholos' but down behind home plate where we sat, there were lots of families, couples and elderly who just seemed to enjoy the motions of the game ooh-ing and aww-ing at the speed of fastballs and way curveballs curve. The lines were short and the beer selection and prices were very reasonable. The jumbo screen reminded us of an iPod touch resting on its side. It isn't exactly an HD quality screen but one cool thing I noticed is that every time a player has an RBI, stolen base or any stat, a little bubble would pop up on the screen with their name saying how many that's been for the season. They don't do that in San Francisco, and it's a delight for the baseball fan.
Here's a tip: Find the tix scalpers in the parking lot just minutes after first pitch. They'll want to get rid of tix since the games already going so it's easy to bargain. The girlfriend and I came up on 10th row right behind home plate for WAY below face value. I'm talking two tix for the price of one. Ooooh baby... I love a good deal. Now do it!!!

I once loved the Dodgers and still get chills up and down my spine watching Kirk Gibson's heroic game winning homerun off Dennis Eckersley in game one of the1988 World Series.
I was also at game 6 when they beat the defending WS Champ Mets in the NLCS Series and also there for game 2 of the WS when Hershiser shut down the mighty Oakland A's.
Great times and great memories, but it doesn't change the fact that Dodger Stadium is archaic and antiquated. Beautiful venue, yet with far too many undersized bathrooms on every leval costing almost an inning of play if you have to piss. For poor women the ante goes up to 3 innings of missed baseball.
Not to mention the constant parking nightmare of getting in and even worse out of the Stadium after the damn games. What a cluster fuck!
And finally when corporate America came in with the Pizza Huts and Carl Jr's etc.. even getting a good old fashioned grilled Dodger Dog became a 3 inning adventure. WTF was with that? Not good!
The stadium is a dinosaur. Getting food or beer is a fool's game. And unless sitting on the field level you might as well be in "the Hood".
Not a very conducive family atmosphere anymore IMO
And yes, I've been in the luxery boxes where beer and Wolfgang Pucks sandwiches were abundant and unlimited Dodger Dogs were piled in chafing dishes. Even met Owen Wilson there and shared a piss with Tom Hanks in the urinal next to me, albeit our conversation was obviously brief.
But the bottom line is the Stadium was built in the early sixties, I'll guess in an era when folks held their piss and when fans didn't care about actually seeing any ball game, or missing several innings getting food or going to the bathroom.
Regardless now-a-days it's a parking hell and freeway nightmare.
Not to mention that if you elect to sit in the left or right field bleachers, there's no beer offerred and you can't access the other parts of the Stadium.
And the biggest travesty of all is that unlike places like Angel Stadium, tailgating in the parking lot before the game is strictly forbidden.

Love the dodgers, but HATE the security/police when going to a game! That's my only gripe. I can deal shitty traffic, shitty parking, shitty seats in the sun, shitty prices for food -that's all part of the game.
But do they really need to have the lapd rejects on crack give every single person the dirty look of a lifetime? Does that somehow sell tickets?
Maybe I'm old fashioned. Maybe the fact that I believe that my five year old son should NEVER have to ask me why the police want to pat him down is just too demanding?
the best ball park in the world!!! the best team in the world,,, the best city in the world,,,, and the best fans!!!
The Smart Show gives Dodger Stadium it's Smart seal of approval. We recently featured it on our show because when you consider the suites, the dugout club, and the regular seats---it's a great place to take clients and build relationships.

Damn you will probably spend five hours here. I arrived at 6:30. The game started at 7:30 and was done at 10:00. I was stuck in traffic until about 11:00. However. I was happy most of the time. The place has a real good feel to it lot of open space. They have a ton of food stands and it is fun to hit the beach balls. They also passed out a real nice bobble-head of Brad Penny. Cool.
I'm a fairly new baseball/Dodger fan, but each time I'm here (which is usually at least few times each homestand) it's exciting!
Hearing Vin announce the Fan Code of Conduct as you walk inside the stadium, seeing the players out on the field before the game, getting beer/ food, watching the first pitches being thrown, kids taking the field with the Dodgers, "It's Time for Dodger Baseball!"...all leading up to what's sure to be a great game.
"Aaaaaaaand now...the starting line-up for your LOS ANGELES DODGERS!", the cheers as our Boys in Blue take the field, the giveaways in between innings, Kiss Cam, buying overpriced Cracker Jacks and peanuts from the concession guys, Bloopers, Guess the Attendance, guessing which cup the baseball's under, the 7th Inning Stretch with Nancy, seeing Vin stand up, sing and clap along to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", homeruns with flashing lights going off all over the stadium, winning the game=flashing lights AND hearing "I Love LA"...
These are just some of the things I love about Dodger Stadium. My favorite (inexpensive) section, is 10 in the infield reserve. Perfect view of the game and if you're in row A a ledge to put your feet up!
As far as trying to 'save money' at Dodger stadium, don't waste your $$ on buying peanuts and Cracker Jacks and $6 water! Go to Albertsons and get some, they're MUCH cheaper! :)
Yeah the beer's expensive, yeah the beach balls are annoying, but it's Dodger baseball, and you can't experience it with "the Greatest Fans in Baseball" anywhere else!
I came here on fireworks night a few weeks back and will say it's a great ballpark and our seats were almost ideal. We sat in the upper most deck behind home plate and had a great view of the action and the seats were only $4 each. Incredible eh? 2 22oz beers were $22, which is about on par with the way sporting events are pricing their brews now-a-days. One of the things that I did not like was our transportation to the park, which I guess isn't a fault of the park, but of L.A. Metro. We had to walk about a mile to get there from the closest bus stop.
The fireworks were great, and better than I was expecting to be honest. They even had a few smiley faces and baseball explosions in the sky, which coincidentally put a smile on my face. If I'm ever back in L.A. when the dodgers are playing baseball, I will try and see another game which is saying something great about this establishment.
Go dodgers. best team in the world! best place in the world to be.
Saw The Cure play here on the Disintegration Tour and had a great time. I think baseball is boring so I'm not sure what the place is like for games.
I know only giving 3-stars to this cathedral is blasphemous when you were born and raised in LA. To be honest, having been to many ballparks around the country, I've experienced better. But, being that I'm from LA, I'll tack that extra star on just for kicks. Wow, the place is looking pretty tired these days. All the advertising can't hide the fact that it's the 4th oldest ballpark in MLB, 3rd oldest next year when Yankee Stadium gets decommissioned. Sure, Boston and Chicago got some pretty old places to play, but those places are historic and got some cache to them. The only cool thing about Dodger Stadiums aesthetics are the palm trees. It makes you wonder, when they built the place, why did they face the way they did? Had they faced it in the opposite direction, they would have had a magnificent view of Downtown....maybe it's a sun thing. Anyhow.....
On my last visit, the concession ran out of beer in the 4th inning! Not cool. It's nice to see that they've figured out the parking situation, getting in and out was very easy, but charging $30 for preferred is a rip-off. Dodger dogs will always be legit, but running out of beer in the 4th, I can't forgive something like that. My other complaint is in regards to the advertising overkill. Once you enter the place, you have a dozen Miller girls trying to sign you up to some list in return for a zippo, or something the other. You also have two or three different people trying to get you to enter some drawing for a free vacation, car, boat, liver. I mean, it's just overwhelming, especially when all I've got on my mind is Beer, hot dog, seat...that's it.
Another thing, stats. They have numbers EVERYWHERE, and not all in the same place either. If you're looking for batting avg, it's over there to the far right, you need to look very closely, because that scoreboard is quite the matrix. If you're looking for a pitch count, it's somewhere over there, I think, you need to add all the balls and strikes together to get that number you're looking for. If you're looking for NL scores, that's there, but if you're looking for AL scores, that's over there, or is it over there?
I don't know, I leave the place feeling used. I know, that's the society we live in, advertising pays the bills, but YIKES. Growing up in the O'Malley era was a privilege. There's something to be said about family owned organizations that don't need to rely on advertising as much as corporations do. But that's probably the reason why they were forced to sell in the first place.
Ah well, maybe this review would be more glowing if the Dodgers had won....we'll get 'em next time. But if you want my opinion, I think it's time we give back Chavez Ravine to all those people who lost their homes when the place was built, and build a more comfortable home of bricks somewhere else, with a view.

I love the Dodgers and I love our home stadium in Los Angeles. I've gone to so many Dodgers games and have sat on all levels. There is never a bad seat, well, maybe there is, my point being that you'll have a good time no matter what.
Dodger fans are not afraid to show there love and can be loud at times. If you're not up for that, don't go to a ballgame. Avoid me at all costs because I'm one of the loud fans. Not the obnoxious type I hope.
The food is well, ballgame food. The food is the best on the lower levels and this last week I was lucky enough to seat on field level and order food here too. Can you believe they have veggie dogs? This was great for me and I didn't feel left out when everybody else was eating a Dodger dog. The Gordon Biersch garlic fries are like an highly addictive drug that consumes my thoughts as soon as I enter the heavenly gate of Dodger Stadium. They are very oily, though, Not always good, but I love greasy, garlicky fries. So good yet so bad. There is plenty of beer on hand including margaritas (yes) and wine for you sophisticated fans.
Once you get your food, I'm sure you will have a great time with friends, family, fans, food and your home team. Enjoy and don't forget to stay for the ENTIRE game. Don't leave early, please. Us fans stay 'till the end.

I was driving to Silver Lake yesterday from Downtown and got stuck in some horrible slow traffic. Ah, Dodger Stadium traffic. I was chatting with the valet-phile and she said something weird like, "I hate baseball games."
It was a good thing I was stuck in traffic because if I had been actually driving, I would have screeched to a halt.
Shauna: "How can you hate baseball games!? They're so much fun. I love baseball games."
Valet-phile: "What? You? You hate sports!? How can you love baseball games?"
Shauna: "I love Dodgers games! I love the 7th inning stretch. I love doing the wave. I love yelling at the opposing team. I love singing, 'Take Me Out to the Ball Park.' I love knowing I'm sitting with a bunch of other crazy baseball game lovin' folks who like to sneak in random beach balls to throw around."
Valet-phile: "Wow. I guess I don't know everything about you. This is coming from a woman who hates football games."
Shauna: "True. Football games are boring. But I like tailgating."
My elementary school is next to Dodger Stadium. I grew up with the crossing guard giving me baseball cards, going to games with my grandpa, eating Dodger dogs and merrily cranking the relish machine.
I miss the hand-cranked relish machine. One of these days I will make a superfluous purchase and buy an old-fashioned hand-crank relish maker. C'mon! Your very own relish machine! How fun would that be?
I hate relish packets. They've ruined everything.

OK, I'm not a Dodger Fan. I don't even like Baseball, but,
This was an incredible experience! My company reserved a section in the field level (rows 2-7) near third base. Our package included entry to the Baseline Club (a restaurant and bar that provides all-you-can-eat food and non-alcoholic beverages. You just pay for the cocktails, wine & beer). The food was decent- they offered everything from salad to gyros, to marinated chicken to middle-eastern rice. And of course- Dodger dogs. It gave some sense of elitism to walk past the door manager and bouncer into this very exclusive place. Almost like being on the VIP list at some snazzy club. OK- so that was my 15 minutes of fame....
The best part of the package was definitely the seat location- we were right next to the dugout and managed to get a few autographs from the players on our company logoed baseballs. One of the most rewarding things was that our group had some extra tickets which we gave to a family in the parking lot-- a single mom with her three daughters. They were overwhelmed when their favorite player autographed their baseball- it was great to watch the girls jumping up and down in excitement!
So I would do this again for a small group of people-- even if the tickets are $110 - 180 ea. What a great experience to share!

What's not to love? Baseball? Dodger dogs? 7th inning stretch? Men in pants that show off their ass? Loud, rowdy crowds, the occasional give-a-way, beach-balls snuck in, and "I Love LA" played at the end of every win??? And, Ladies - TONS of GUYS are in the stands... it can be a fun place to meet men. All are part of the joy of seeing a game here.
My favorite seats are in the Left Field Pavilion - really fun place to sit (even met people here and hung out post-game at the Short stop) - and they were only about $9 -11 bucks a seat. They sell out quick, but you can rebuy on ebay or stub-hub. I've also sat in section 13 of the Top Deck - also fun place (but not if afraid of heights). The Top Deck Store has the BEST fan stuff for sale. The lodge seats are ok if you feel like spending a dime. Finally, if you have $500 to blow on a seat... the Players Club is AMAZING. You are so close you can see the dirt grains and blades of grass on the field, you have a waiter who serves you all you can eat/drink (except alcohol) for free, and their is all you can eat gourmet food inside with things like carved turkey and prime rib.
No matter where you sit, wear dodger blue, or if you must be true to another team, be respectful and cheer, but don't heckle the Dodger or the fans will get mad and rowdy.
Parking is $15, or you can park near Elysian park - but walk in a group because my nephew you and I ran into a seedy crowd on our way into the field. Stick along the street and you should be OK.
I grew up in a family of Angel fans in Orange County, so it was obvious I was bound to hail the halo... but that would not be the case.
I don't know if it was Fernando Venezuela, Kirk Gibson, Steve Garvey or because I liked saying "Steve Sax." I'm pretty sure it was due to the most successful decade in club history and my determination to always go against my family.
I had a couple chances to come here during my childhood, but it wasn't 'till last summer that I truly absorbed that...this is really a shitty stadium. I couldn't help but feel like I was stepping into a time-machine. The seats are old and uncomfortable. This place is in serious need of some TLC.
I've been to some nice fields, and this place is nowhere near the comfort and esthetics of the rest. But what it lacks in beauty it oozes in history.
My Dodgers beat the Angels, so the rest is forgiven.

Yes.

This was the second time I've been here... and apparently, I heard we were sitting in some awesome seats - Field Loge or something like that... but all I kept thinking was... game? What game? And after 6 innings of nothing but eating... thought... "ooooo... that cotton candy sure looks good!"

Be sure to wear the right team colors, or fear for your life. Tradition...if you like that kind of stuff, you'll like Chavez Ravine. I'm not much for it, so it's whatevers. They've upgraded it to look nicer, but still very "ordinary" (I guess that's another word for traditional) for me. It's a bit "ghetto" well at least for so than the other LA team. The food here is pretty standard. Dodger Dogs are overrated. Just a long hot dog. Garlic fries are too garlicky...I realized I'm not a fan of garlic fries. Peanuts cost more than a Dodger Dog. I'd rather have another Dodger Dog. Parking is $15... much more than Angels Stadium, but CONSIDERABLY LESS than AT&T Park.
As for the Dodgers, the team itself, they've screwed me over with trading too many of my favorite players, that I'm no longer a fan!
The Curse of PIAZZA!!!!!
When you give something a 4-star rating on Yelp, the caption next to the stars reads "Yay! I'm a fan." At the risk of angering the readers of this review, I have to admit: I am NOT a Dodgers fan. I cannot give this place four stars; I just can't. I love the Giants, so . . . Beat LA!
That said, Dodger stadium is pretty cool. I am not going to compare McCovey Cove to Chavez Ravine or compare our giant (no pun intended) HD scoreboard to your tiny low-definition jumbotrons. No "my dad can beat up your dad stuff" here. Although, truth be told, McCovey Cove is way better, HD rules, and my dad can totally kick your dad's butt. But I digress.
I was reading some reviews of Dodger Stadium, and, as always, someone says "there's not a bad seat" in the whole ballpark. Oh really? What about sitting in section 58R in the upper deck behind the foul pole? That can't be good. I sat in section 107 behind home plate, but my seats were too far from the field. I still had a spectacular view of the action, although I was not particularly close to it. It's understandable, though, as all older ballparks were built this way. I am willing to sacrifice proximity to the field for being a part of history: Robinson, Snider, Reese, Koufax, Drysdale, Hershiser, Gibson . . . "3,000 years of beautiful tradition, from Moses to Sandy Koufax." Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Sitting higher up affords you spectacular views of Chavez Ravine, ruined only by the THINK BLUE sign (again, I am biased). When you're at Dodger Stadium, you can't help but feel relaxed and at peace with the world. It seems to have worked for Vin Scully, the best baseball announcer of all time. There, I said it. There's never been a better storyteller in the history of baseball. Ever.
Now, here's something that I *know* will cost me a handful useful/funny/cool votes: Dodger dogs. Man, I had heard so much about them, I couldn't wait to try them when I got to the game. I bit into one, and . . . bleech, what IS this? It tasted like a Vienna sausage on a white Wonder bread bun. I don't know what it was, but it wasn't a hot dog. Sorry.
Still, it feels as though the fans here cannot handle too much of their beloved Dodgers and Dodger Stadium. Arrive in the third inning, leave in the seventh. If Takashi Saito saves a game in the ninth and no one is there to see it, does it even count?
Please check out my reviews at http://giants.yelp.com and . . . Beat LA!!!

It took me 23 years as a native Angeleno to get to Dodger Stadium. It took me about one hour after my first game to buy tickets to my second game at Dodger Stadium. I've got to make up for lost time!
The parking cost is totally exorbitant but it's easy getting in and out (given that every person showing up is in a car) and despite the size of the lot, spots are not very far from the stadium. Our infield reserve seats were awesome and the Dodgers beat the Mets 5-1. Hurrah!
I wanted to get a 50th anniversary hoody but $60, psssht! Highway robbery, I say. Baseball has been the traditional American pastime, replaced in modern times by shopping and spending money, so I can't fault the team for trying to meld the two and keep cashing in, but c'mon now.
Still, having to walk out wearing my same old lace Misfits skull sweatshirt wasn't so bad when I remembered the home runs, salted peanuts, little birdies flying around the stadium and the 9 innings of fun I had and plan to have again in 2 weeks time.

It may be one of the oldest stadiums in use, but age certainly does not detract from its beauty.
First of all, its location is spectacular! I don't think there is such a great view from the parking lot of ANY stadium, anywhere. Perched high in the hills behind downtown LA, the colorful lights of downtown loom in the not-so-distant distance. It's simply breathtaking. I've never been so happy to be in a parking lot in my life.
The stadium is among the largest in the MLB, and if you don't park near where you're seated, you may find out just how big it is!
Architecturally DS is incredibly engineered with good views throughout. If you sit in the loge section, the concessions are at the top of the steps, and you can still see the field while ordering a Dodger Dog...and of course there are plenty of televisions broadcasting the game so you don't have to wait in line backwards.
The food prices were quite nominal for a sports venue...but the beer prices at first appear off the hook! I almost passed out when I saw that a regular sized beer was more than $9.00. I let out a sigh of relief when I realized a regular sized beer is actually 24 OZ....not so bad.

So this is what it's all about hu??? After pitchers of margaritas at La Parrilla, we headed over to the Stadium...great easy parking, good crowd! I loved the numerous concession stands....and short lines for all your needs! I was even given a Smashbox lipstick & a pretty red rose on my way in! $12 jumbo size DosXX? yeah, that was expected. What wasn't expected was the extreme heat...holy hell!!! Cold beverages helped with that though!
alcohol + direct sun light + no sunglasses + no hat = sleepy Maneli hiding from the sun
I had a great time though & we were sitting pretty damn close...we had some ice cream in a dodger helmet & cheered for both teams and I tried to pay attention to figure out how this game works!! I'm down to go again........next time I'll be more prepared for the weather though! =]

Even though I am lifelong Angel fan, I still enjoy going to Dodger stadium as it seems to connect me back to a legacy of baseball fans that have observed a great tradition of baseball. I think of going to the ballpark in the summer, hearing Vin Scully on the radio as it drifts out in the pavilion seats, some of the classic games that I saw in high school with my buddy Gerald and of course some great Angel-Dodger matchup when I lived in LA.
Definitely an LA staple
Coming from Europe I only knew and loved soccer (still hate this term). Until I met the Yankees as I was living in the East Coast. I fell in love with them and Baseball and I call myself proudly a Yankee fan and a Dodger supporter.
One of my goals in live is to visit as many if not all Stadiums in the US. I've been in Dodger Stadium many times and found out a few things that are important to me.
1. I do not go to Top Deck, it is a waste of time, money and fun.
2. I do not sit in AYCE Pavilion, it is annoying as a small blather. You have to get up every time to let people pass that want to eat, eat and eat. When you stand in a line, and realize that you are waiting because all the food is gone, and you wait for a for ever for a new ship load of Dodger Dogs. You miss to much of the Dodger experience out there.
My favorite spot is the Left Field Pavilion, get seats as close to the field and enjoy yourself. Chances are that you catch a ball, play with the 99 cent beach ball, do the wave and have fun with all those drunks (they are really hilarious).
Make sure you wear no other gear, but Dodger gear unless, you like to be the center of all attention and function as a public garbage can.
Another cool thing is you can bring your own peanuts, sunflower seeds, Subway's, Quizno's and so on. I actually saw a guy with a couple of Little Cesar Pizza's, and O yeah you can bring water and soda's.
Other seats I prefer are the once as close to the field, but my budget does not allow it all the time. They did a lot of renovation to the park so some of the old con's are gone. It is always fun to go and to root, root, root for the Dodgers, especially when the Giant or Padres are in town.
Ta-ta-ta-tatata.....................Charge!!!!!!
my bf and i got some cheap tickets thru travelzoo.com - $6 for pretty decent lower reserve seats (reg. ~$20). althought you can get a good deal on tickets, you can't get around the $15 parking. boo. unfortunately, there isn't a local parking alternative.
we tailgated in the care before the game (in the car bcuz you're not allowed to loiter in the lot). when we got in, we loaded up on overpriced stadium food - pretzel, nachos, beer and their signature dodger dog. obviously all delicious, while watching the game. the fans can be quite interesting ... two guys in little shorts painted their bodies in dodger blue and white. one had "L" on their chest and the other an "A". even when the team is sucking, the fans stay loyal and root for them til the very end.
after the game, my bf and i spent a good 30 min looking for his car in the lot. they're not marked for reference so it was very difficult to locate it. once we found it, we waited for traffic to die down and then left. it's always fun to go to the ballgame so no complaints, even with the overpriced food, parking and traffic. when you're a fan, you're a fan.
I've been a little spoiled lately, going to Dodger games. My boss, who is a long-time and faithful fan, has had season tickets for many years. Every baseball season, though he goes to nearly all home games, there are a few he can't make, and so he hands them on over to me. They are pretty good seats and include preferred parking (free!). My past Dodger game experiences were always in the left-field pavilion seats, back when they were about $6 and Raider fans, moonlighting as Dodger fans would take over and "liven" up the place a bit. Good times, good times.
Now, to be completely honest, I'm not exactly a baseball fan (i'm a 'futbol'...er...soccer fan), but I'll support a home team any chance I get and I'll definitely go to a game if I can get my hands on some free tix. Really, it's the beer that gets me.
Went to Game 3 last night against the much-hated Giants and had a great time. Um, thanks to the pre-game drinking at the local Barbara's At The Brewery (aka Barbara's - http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Apparently, when my boss was there on Monday for Game 1, he sat right next to Mia Hamm and the twins and often sits next to Dodgers players' families. I guess last night's threat of rain kept the families at home. I saw no one, not that I'd recognize any other wife or girlfriend.
Our seats were great and the beer was flowing and good times were had. Light rain kept us from staying there for the rest of the game last night, but it was still fun.
Dodger Stadium is definitely a stand-out place in our lovely City of Angels.

My first Dodger game!!!!
No, I had no idea what was going on.
Yes, the line for the women's restroom is long here as well (like everywhere else in the world).
Yes, the BLINKY DODGER CUP is cute.
Yes, I had a great time.
Dude! What is up with the STEEEEEP steps! I am VERY much afraid of heights and steps and all that is scary, BUT it's a good thing because once I sit down, I will not move from my seat. No NO no NO. No going up and down those scary steps man, especially with all the kids running around.
Regardless, I had a great time (even though I didn't stay long) and it's fun watching the game in person. On TV is pretty darn bland (sorry all you fans!).
Wessie was explaning the game to me, the runs, the outs, the scoring, etc... Do I remember? Not really but it was exciting! OK GUYS LET'S DO THE WAVE!!!!!!!
Oh! There was a proposal too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW CORNY yet SWEET. Awwww.... and the kiss cam. Awww...... I wanna be on there one day dammit!
:)

Sure the Dodgers have won just one playoff game since 1988. Who cares when you can get 5-dollar tickets? There really isn't a bad seat in the house. Traffic is always bad and parking is the real crime ($15), but it's usually worth it. Family-friendly most of the time, except when the team gets behind by a lot or is playing the Giants. I've seen some pretty nasty fights. I've sat behind the plate and way up in the top deck and I still love it.
The stadium and parking lots provide great views on summer nights, and the stadium has a very relaxed feel. Just be sure to stay standing in the seventh inning: Nancy Bea plays "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" twice. (That's how you can separate the casual fans).
